Bishops Castle 5 2013 - Enter the Dragon

First topic message reminder :

To allow time for you guys & gals to save beer tokens & build up enough Brownie points etc a date of Saturday 8th June has been decided for BC5.


As usual the ride will be centered around Shropshire & Wales & peeps are welcome to join for just the rideout or to B&B/camp for both the Friday & Saturday nights with food in the local hostelries which will be announced in due course.

B&B's are aplenty & most will take a booking in advance without requiring payment untill the weekend in question so its always a good idea to book early as last year it got very busy with a local wedding taking up some of the B&B's we normally use.

Below is a link to the main places to stay all within easy walking distance & please just ask if we can offer any help or advice, The Claremont also have as well as B&B a property which can be shared by a number of peeps who may wish to reduce costs by sharing & if I remember correctly a garage they have allowed us to use for the bikes in the past.

The Foxholes Camp site have a Bunk house, Static Caravan & Camping available.

already got 3 weekends away in june, but what the hell put me and a plus one down and ill see if i can swing the friday off work

As long as I have another bike by then I'm in.

sounds like lots of places are getting booked up quick, magnolia was full when I enquired, as was the proch house and the boars head!

though old brick guest house still has spaces

always gets full quick, ive never managed a room in 2 years , but looks like its 3rd time lucky , and helps that i dont have to pay the extortionate single room surcharge this time

i gots that this time! but if i come on my own surely nothing can go wrong this time round.....

ah now remember steve what goes on tour at the bunkhouse stays on tour in the bunkhouse....

I have just booked a room at the Old Brick. Still some left, although she would prefer not to have all rooms booked out as singles, so if you are sharing or will share then I think she'll appreciate it.

I stayed there last year - can recommend it; lovely bacon!

ah I have a room there to, glad the bacon is recommended!

I can recommend the hotel in bishops castle..not cheap but nice and me an Rosco got rooms in there at the last minute last year. The one up on the hill in town..canny remember its name..

It's called the Castle Hotel Dave, it's usually the last place to get booked as its one of the most expensive too

The old 'Thundercat forum factor' must be a big boost to the local economy in BC!

Is anyone booking the bunkhouse this year? It can be booked for £40 a night for 6 people, So £6.67 pppn, Its about a 15 minute walk down to Bishops castle, basic but ok to get your head down....
Let me know if your interested and I'll book it for us.

'Fraid if I get there it'll only be for the rideout so I won't be bunk housing this year. Positive is I won't be dragging my luggage all over Wales

Done my pleading Ellie, it's this or Assen :( contemplated bringing her but it would be with two kids and a dog in toe which wouldn't be a great selling point and as for her having a bike she's not even remotely interested in them.

Think I'll just have to be happy to get there for the day

Anyone know of any B&B places left and does anyone fancy sharing a twin room?
