Re: BC10 Master List
I was warned about getting that award before leaving home
Think I've got my route there sorted, having done all 10, I have a few routes on which to fall back on. First half is un-inspiring, mainly motorway, but I need my 'Monmouth Hill' fix, think I'm in for 280 miles. Should be there just after 5, leaving 9:30. More than enough time to take in the lake views,

Re: BC10 Master List
Hi everyone.
Putting out a plea. Looking to come n3xt weekend to BC but hotel apparently be fully book3d up. Was wondering if anyone with twin rooms might open minded enough to share. Would be great if you do. But I will not be upset if you'd rather not.
Cheers
Mark.

Hi Mark
Sorry this doesn't help you but I cancelled my room a few weeks ago and I'm already sharing with greencat.

Anyone have any idea what time they'll be arriving yet? I've booked a half day off work and if I get away on the bike by about 2 I could be there for about 4ish. Not sure what others plans are.

Re: BC10 Master List
I'm making a day of it Steve, be there just after 5. As is normal for me I won't be taking the most direct route and have scheduled a few stops as my derrière is sans a lot of its padding and is still getting used to the 'hard' comfort seat - was better off being a large lump rather than a medium lump

Yes, that's still the plan Terry, as far I know. We'll keep you updated on our progress.
We are aiming to arrive at the hotel on Friday

Re: BC10 Master List
Sad news I'm afraid guys
We have a poorly dog and the dog sitter won't take her, she can't get the rest she needs there to recover, so we're going to have to cancel coming. Tried everyone we could to get them to dog and house sit, best we got was "we could take her camping"... not really resting either.
Have called the hotel to cancel our booking there (I did try to offer it to Mark but he can't take a double). They even said we could have brought her ... until I pointed out we were coming on bikes
So must send our apologies and wish you all a great weekend. Weather looks great (seems to be our way at the moment, we rode in the crap all morning last year then the weather improved just after we quit!) so ride safe all, have fun.
Still, you'll all get to have a much nicer ride out without me holding you up from the back

Re: BC10 Master List
Will start this off.... Back home safe and sound after a fantastic weekend. Glad I could make it. Great ride. Stops. Weather was fantastic and the location was absolutely amazing. Great hotel other than the service in restaurant was a little lapsing.... bang on 300 miles. Thank you Nick and Ellie for yet another brilliant BC.Xxx

That’s me home. 533 miles in total, what a weekend! Location, weather, route, people... faultless. The best way for me to get acquainted with my new bike. Brilliant!

Same here Paul getting properly acquainted with the new beast (and it is a snarling violent beast) cracking weekend, cracking weather, cracking roads and couldn't ask for a better set of people. Home now 395 miles later with a massive grin, can't wait to do it again and I'll speak for Matt who said he had a really good time. Cheers Nick, Ellie and everyone who made the weekend

Got back at 2.00 just in time to catch the second half of the England game. Total of just under 600 miles, really enjoyed it thanks for organising Nick and Ellie.

Re: BC10 Master List
Wow. What a great weekend.
Thanks Nick and Ellie for organising us and sorting the weather too.
Nice to meet newcomer Matt and see all the usual suspects too.
Thanks Ian and Gill for keeping me company on the way there and back.
The trip back was quite exhilarating on the Newcastleton road.
Followed 4 boy racers (who obviously knew the road) for a bit then got past 3 of them on a straight and followed the Ford Focus at the front for a while before he let me through.
Back home just before 6pm.
Looking forward to the next one.
Cheers
Rosco

Re: BC10 Master List
Home after 711 miles @ 3:11, ahead of schedule partially due to shorter stops, navigating pretty 'well' through the traffic and I'm sorry I didn't realise I was doing that speed officer .
Thanks for the heads up on the Heddlu De Cymru presence, only spotted one van, mind you I was behaving myself in Wales and most the way home, was only further South I found I felt safer 'matching the pace' of those around me, or escaping perceived danger
Thanks Nick and Ellie for the organisation and leading Nick and to everyone for making it a great weekend. A first for us chasing after a 'tricycle'
I must commend everyone on their riding, I never saw any OMG moments and whilst I hadn't taken my hearing aid and quite often missed a lot of what was said, I don't think there were any raised heart rate situations.
It is fair to say I was exceptionally dopey the whole weekend and I hope my only misdemeanor was the observed failing to cancel my indicator after marking a junction for which it is an honour to receive a lovely certificate, thank you (someone had to do it and the only one I saw wasn't a particularly a good example ) . In fact I did it twice, the second attempt was less spectacular though, but non the less
I will frame it and the one I am more proud of, my 10 year 'badge', the two can hang side by side, one in shame and one with pride.
Final note on my dopeness, my photo's. Somehow my lense autofocus switch moved to manual and I have to say I'm underwhelmed with the results, however there are 96 of them - not total disasters but not as clear as I'd have liked
Pics here
Will go through the video's and post anything which may be worth watching.

Re: BC10 Master List
That's Ian and I just got home. Can only echo what everyone else said, it was a great weekend all round. Weather: awesome, ride out: amazing, company: exceptional, location: beautiful and the food was lovely once it eventually arrived. Think I've now run out of superlatives
Think we covered about 850 miles all in.
Big thank you to Nick & Ellie and everyone else for make it a brilliant weekend.

Re: BC10 Master List
I'd like to echo what he, he, he, he, he, he, she and he said. Great weekend, cracking location, some awesome roads and great company.
Also thanks to the those who performed tail end charlie duties to look after us all.
Was it just me or did anyone else see Rob going the wrong way again in Bala on the way home? Perhaps he had his satnav upside down?
And commiserations to Bob for his incident on the way down. Hope you get it sorted Bob and are fit and back on the bike soon. We nearly had twice as many tracers as Thundercats...
Good to meet up with some existing friends and make some new ones.
