Thundercats hoooooooo! Newbie member.
First topic message reminder :
Hi all,
One excited newbie member to the forum, Late 30's week or so away from my Mod 2 with a cat ready and waiting. (well sort of)
This Friday she goes in for an MOT after being of the road for 3 years.
1998 model picked her up for 650 and love her to bits, always had Yamaha's so it was a given really.
Used to own the RD LC's a 125 and a 350, she is cosmetically challenged but nothing a bit of TLC and spray paint won't sort.
Anyway nice to meet you all and I'm looking forward to the journey.
Regards Tractorboy1978

Re: Thundercats hoooooooo! Newbie member.
..bear in mind it's pretty rapid, but it does have excellent front brakes.
Re: Thundercats hoooooooo! Newbie member.
Thanks for the feedback guys going to put some tax on her this morning as had issues with the new owner slip yesterday so couldn't do it online as it's the older style of green slip. The numbers are 1 digit shorter and kept throwing up an issue.
Got some brilliant insurance from Hastings Direct just over 200 quid with pavilion cover and insured to ride other bikes, my boys better watch out as they both have 125's lol.
She looks pretty tidy from a distance but up close she is showing her age which over time I intend to address, now time for petrol and a careful spin.

First job take the cat to the petrol station as she's as thirsty as he'll lol.
4 minors but I could care a less, come on one more Thundercat back on the road.
Congratulations! 4 minors is fine tbh, I had 1 minor and that's because I ride too far to the right, lol.

Re: Thundercats hoooooooo! Newbie member.
Thanks Ondurin, my minors were twice for positioning when turning too far to the right going left and visa versa. Not returning to 30 mph after driving past a school at 20 mph but the repeaters are none existent and the last one for handling as clutch control wasn't great after a t junction and has to close the throttle to avoid the cerb which I have done a million times before without an issue.
Just pleased to have done it and not required re booking and another 75 quid etc.

Re: Thundercats hoooooooo! Newbie member.
Will do thanks, went out today to pit some petrol in her only about a mile up the road.
25 miles later!!! Hehe need to build the faith in the cornering and establish the low speed riding nut overall loving it.
Pretty tame as you could imagine though at the minute as it's been raining as well, bet she really purs when higher reving speed.
Do you know if they have power bands as such as I used to ride an RD350LC back on the day but never went through with the test to get it on the road as I had the 125lc at the time as well.
Cheers for the well wishes

Re: Thundercats hoooooooo! Newbie member.
Power band is fun on a Tcat, sit it at around 6k RPM for a big burst but then there is another at 9k for when you really want to go fast
