Oxon weekend away proposal
Split this from the "Who on here still owns a 'cat".
Thread to discuss the possibility of an Oxon weekend away rideout, if it gets going an area in Something for the Weekend will be created. - SteveCat
I can do Oxfordshire, I often work in the north of the county (JLR at Gaydon)

If it's done in Oxfordshire area I might be able to arrange some pretty damn cheap rooms £15pppn that includes a full English breakfast buffet as well But that does depend on when as we can get seriously busy at this Hotel.

Re: Oxon weekend away proposal
Do the Oxford posse want to put their heads together and come up with a few dates that it 'could' be done and see which one the masses could attend?

Date's would be best for me because then I can look how many rooms we have available on said days, we get very very busy with weddings and events here.

You beat me to it Can discuss it here and hopefully it'll happen and an area will be set-up in Something for the weekend.

You are brave offering for us to stay where you work!! (only kidding, seriously )
Sorry if I'm poking my nose in, I've had a few tries at organising ride-outs and pretty much failed, so I'm probably the last one to listen to Biggest issue I faced was accommodation, you've solved a big hurdle, thank you. The next problem is when, could I suggest you have a look at your bookings and at the ride-out dates already planned and allow at least two week break - then you can tell us when the venue can accommodate us. I've found if you ask, chances are you won't get a reply, put up a date and either there's a unanimous, "oh no, not then!" or those who can, will sign up.
Incidentally, how many rooms are there and the configurations - mainly doubles or mixture singles / twins?
Right, best I get out the way now and allow folk to organise a ride out.

Re: Oxon weekend away proposal
I might be able to make this as my parents live in oxon in Banbury - I can offer some roads I used to ride on that I liked if a route is being formulated.

18th, 19th & 20th March.

I'll be able to update the list once I get some more time whilst at work.
Also once a date has been decided I can then have a word and sort out room costs etc

Re: Oxon weekend away proposal
Thanks for the list of dates.
I'd imagine there would be little interest before April, some of the dates either clash with other ride-outs or are very close.
I've chosen 3 - one date from April, May and June -
There is a poll at the beginning of this thread if folk could please vote for their preferences
(you should be able to select more than 1 date)

Re: Oxon weekend away proposal
I'll be adding more dates either later today or tomorrow morning as well to put it into the later months but would prefer to avoid any possible rainy season (Yeah I know that's almost impossible!)

Also interested in the later dates yet to be published before placing a vote . . . . Thanks for taking the time to get this rolling
Re: Oxon weekend away proposal
Banbury way is bout 150 miles from me so just about doable in a day what with my dicky hip ( long as I remember to dose up on neurofen beforehand lol). Not voted on date yet as waiting to see if anymore come up. Would be great to meet some of you peeps but June is a tad busy so will wait and see
