First topic message reminder :

Right I'm looking at getting the Ace, a cheap two up as the Mrs is missing being on the back although I'm planning on getting her on one so she will be riding herself to Oxford in August.

Not overly fussed about cosmetics (if you've seen some of my posts then you'll know I like getting frisky with the paint cans) but mechanically would like it to be sound, no more than 30000 on the clocks and a max price of £1500.

1. Does anyone know of any

2. What do I need to look out for on these when looking to buy
and
3. Even though I've read reviews and such peoples opinion on them as a bike in their own right.

MrFrance went very well on his Ace on a couple of BC's too, even if it did lay down smoke like a Royal navy destroyer under air attack!

Don't say that, I don't want a bike that smokes more than I do. I will test ride them as I'm still unsure about the 5 gears on them.

Noticed this on Gumtree.

I know the mileage is higher than what you want but it's been looked after and is a good price.

Look forward to seeing it!

All that low-mid end torque is good for something ^_^

Edit: I'm going to see what my Tcat does 90mph in 6th gear now Revv wise Smile

As promised

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

She is in near mint condition and has had ALL fluids, filters and brake pads replaced as well as a caliper service and rear rebuilt, a receipt for 4hrs labour plus parts. Scorpion titanium exhaust that looks brand new, Ohlins fully adjustable rear suspension with remote reservoir, Maxton fork internals and again full set up paperwork. The exup has been stripped, cleaned, regreased and rebuilt. The bike is well sorted.

Who else can say they have an Ace like this up their sleeve.

Thanks guy's, got a little mark here and there but nothing you would notice if they are not pointed out. Really am pleased with her, acceleration is so smooth and effortless. If I didn't know better I would say that is was fuel injected.

On a side note I hate London! But my Tcat does 90mph at 7.5k RPM Smile

I've bought a second Ace, same colours so now I have a pair of Aces. Needs work but runs and has brand new full black widow exhaust system, rebuilt front calipers, new tyres. Needs chain and sprockets and rear shock tidy up. Picked her up for £700. Worth putting on the road or better breaking. Is showing 45000 on the clocks but if I'm going to put her back on the road then I would do a full engine strip down and check everything for wear to be on the safe side.

Erm, can I borrow someone's hand lol

R1, Firestorm, CatDog, 2 Ace's plus 3/4 of one in the shed and 2 push bikes. What can I say I like bikes lol. When I look for a new one I always see ones cheap that just need a bit of tlc and then can sell on for quick cash. I do a bit of buying and selling so if anyone wanted a cheap Ace in a few week's (Ray?) there will be a freshly serviced and tested ready to go one for sale.

Don't you be tempting me!

Been looking at building a Tace or an R1 from scratch (I have a shed now, although it's not exactly big).

Besides the woman would kill me, I'm supposed to be saving money tongue
