The subject has been brought up a number of times, but I don't think anyone has actually done it.

I saw one being fitted to an early Ninja. The speedo pick up on this LCD unit was fitted to the rear wheel. There is no fuel gauge as there is no sender unit in the fuel tank to connect the display to.
I cannot remember what issues the guy had with the fitting, but I do know there were problems.

It did look good when it worked, not good enough though to tempt me to go through what he did.

This is what I use, more accurate than the bike speedo and easier to install than an LCD unit.

Yes Kev, a Garmin 550 SatNav. It is one of the 'sub' screens which only works when it is in the bike mount - you can use the unit in a car and the mileage and fuel gauge are not affected.

Just a note on the fuel gauge - it does not reflect what is in the tank. For it to work you need to enter the tank range (only once) and to fill the bike up completely. I've only ever used it when my speedo breaks (happened a good few times with two 'Cats, hence the expectation for it to break again  Rolling Eyes ).

I do use the 'speedo', either in this screen if I don't need the map or a smaller speed display is shown with the map. I do like the digital display  Wink
