Hello from Nottingham!
Hello
Well i only saw the bike today for the first time, test rode it (having never tried one before) and paid for it there and then!! Nice piece of kit tho i say so my self. My main ride is a 2010 Triumph speed triple but i fancied something with a fairing to keep it company. My "new" bike is a Red 2000 model with 6600 miles on the clock, i'm the third owner and as i said, i'm really impressed. The bike was laid up for four years by its owner of 8 years, so i think i'll need to balance the carbs when i get it back home (next week as my insurers closed 30 mins before i saw the bike ). Prior to the Speed triple i had a ST Pan European and before that a Blackbird. Looking at the website it seems that there is a wealth of knowledge that i'll be looking to tap into. Cheers guys.

Re: Hello from Nottingham!
Hello & Welcome stevie_s,
Sounds like you got a nice find there, but then you'll know that with your biking history
There is indeedy a wealth of info to be found here-abouts ~ and of course some tongue in cheek banter
Take a look in the "Something for the Weekend" section and see if there's something that you'd like to join in on
Cheers

Re: Hello from Nottingham!
Well i am a lucky chap, the third bike is a 1984 Suzuki Katana GSX750 SE "pop up", had it for 15 years and i'm just about to finish sorting the carbs and then it should be back on the road. Totally spolit for choice I used to frequent the Blackbird site, so i'll be ready for the banter!! They were/are a good bunch and like most of these types of site, an absolute wealth of knowledge. I'll admit that i took a look at the site before i went to see the bike, forewarned etc. So i'm already in debt to the site!!!robertcains wrote:Welcome in Stevie, Speed Triple & a 'cat? Re: Hello from Nottingham!
There's a few of us just up the road from you Stevie, Sold my 'cat last year after four fantastic years & bought a Speed triple so did it the opposite way around to you.
Who knows I may look for a 'cat winter project sometime but they are all too dear at the minute.

Re: Hello from Nottingham!
The Speed Triple is a cracking piece of kit but i wanted something that i could use for my IAM observer training rather than use the ST. I was happy with the price i paid and after my test ride it was a revelation of how good a 12 year old bike could be! I'll need to make sure they all get equal days out!
