ThumbDown Aaaaaargh, rebuild on hold AGAIN.

Post  stretchie_ Fri Mar 09 2012, 18:11

Just been told I my job may be at risk by end of May.

I just spend a couple months winding up for a rebuild, got a compressor for blasting, painting and running tools, got a welder just incase, start a welding course in just less than seven weeks so that I can do a complete nut and bolt rebuild and learning experience on the Thundercat, from leak down testing, measuring crankshaft bearings, blasting and painting engine casings, lapping valves in if needed spraying fairings and tank....

Hopefully, in an ideal world, I'll get made redundant, get a couple of grand and a new job straight away and carry on as planned, but won't know what's going on until possibly mid May
:(

So for now, I think I'll just concentrate on the bike that already works and sort the suspension out.

Hope it all goes a well as can be expected. I'm at BAE Brough and have seen a few go over the past couple of months. I'm currently okay but one never knows now. Good luck. I guess its a case of do I, dont I. Iwas like that until they said I was safe. For now.

Bigger things to think about than the rebuild but at least your still riding!

Arrrghhh, sorry to hear your news. fuming Hope the 'may be' doesn't come to pass.
Sounds like you were revving up to a proper job there. I hope you can still do it. Work on the other bike and keep riding. It would be good to see you again, hopefully at one of the ride-outs this year?
All the best,
Chris

Cheers guys. It'll be alright, just don't know what, if anything, is actually going to happen.

I'm sure the shopping list for parts will be quite big but I'll be making the shopping list as I strip the bike so I can't forget anything when rebuilding it. At least I have the tools, suely that's got to be the expensive bit out of the way (apart from the gasket kit)
