In need of a ride out Empty In need of a ride out

Post  mrfrance Thu Jul 21 2011, 12:47

I am in desperate need of a ride out as the roads near me are boring! and I don't have many people to ride with down here so any suggestions and interest would be appreciated Smile

I am happy to travel up to lets say the midlands? so If anyone knows any good roads and is up for a full days riding (long enough to make the travel worthwhile) then please let me know as I am gagging to see some open roads!! Very Happy

Thanks

There are some reasonable roads with a few really nice bends up near Rye, Hythe and Folkstone. Its a trek but it may be worth it. Maybe we could put together a group. I personally wouldnt mind a ride up to Folkstone or even to Dover. I have some time around the first week of August, all other things permitting.

Sounds like 'something' will happen round about August time. So, ill just wait and see how this develops...likely that all us southerners will end up having to ride up north to the rest of the group.

we have just done a southerners ride out, although it was good the roads are not so great. I would like to explore a bit so if we can get a date arranged for a majority of us to meet at a central location such as the midlands would be good experience for us "less travelled" southerners and an opportunity to get more cats involved... would be nice to see some old and new faces also Very Happy

If the timing is right, I'm in.

By the way, Hein Gericke Oxford are having an open day this Saturday with a "Poker Ride" - take a look at their website and see what you think. Unfortunately I'm busy.

Did you ever get any further with the Cotswolds ride out idea ? That'd be a reasonable south ride away Smile

Well, unfortunately my wife got pregnant and that kinda put paid to that! I still harbour the idea of a Cotswold Canter one year, just need the time to plan a route and look into food and board options. I do keep thinking about it and keep mentally logging ideas for roads and other aspects of a weekend meet.
