Hi folks - wish me luck please!

Just a quickie - I'm running in the Edinburgh Marathon tomorrow!

I've run nearly 400miles this year in preparation - short fast ones, long slow ones, through the rain, snow and, according to the forecast for tomorrow's race, thunder and lightning!

I dont imagine I'm going to be a regular marathon runner after this - half marathons are much more my thing - and I managed to get a bit of this in the process. But I'm doing the manly thing and medically ignoring it.

So tomorrow there will be me, 24999 other runners, an iPod and a waistband full of jellybabies. Wish me luck!

Hurrah! Best of luck to you mate, there's no way on God's green earth you'd catch me doing anything as daft as running a marathon so I've a lot of respect for those who do

Thanks everyone, especially Chris :whoop: , for your support. I did think about taking the bike; after all, every year the London Marathon is won by a guy on a bike and he even brings a pillion to film the whole thing!

Oh man.

I managed it in just under 4 hours. The temperature was 25 deg and the sun was relentless...I am now burnt, broken and walking like some bright red zombie.

A marathon is a major undertaking. Whilst you can get used to them, it's an opportunity I've decided to decline I know my limitations

I hope the after-glow is now entirely one of achievement (I'm assuming the sunburn wasn't that bad?)

I once did 12 marathons in 12 days..... Had to have a mars bar on the 13th though as I was sick of the nuts! Well done though mate, hottest day of the year too!
