Well, that's exactly what I got for 102 (on the 'cat) in a 70 all those years ago... the 6 points was the maximum (excluding a ban) and the fine was payable in easy-to-manage instalments. That was nice of them.

I wish I got that when I got pulled doing 102 on the cat in Jan 06.

They did me in July 06 and I got no points (bargain you might say), a £185 fine (very resonable I thought) and a 3 week ban.. wall

It was my own fault so can't really argue it or feel hard done by and it could have been much worse, but if I had the choice I'd have taken the 6 points and the £300 fine

That little 3 week ban has had a very bad effect on insurance and will do for years to come still, the points would have been over and gone by next year.. : (

But it's done it's job, I'm not an habitual speeder, I stick to 30's, 40's and 50's religiously and don't go over 80 on the motorway
