Coronavirus (Covid-19) Rides Out during current restrictions
Here is a link to a Visor Down article on Individual riding during the current government restrictions on social isolating and self quarantine government advice period.
Can I ride during the lockdown
Sorry for the ads in the Visor Down article, nothing to do with this forums settings and un-preventable I'm afraid.
Obviously, if you do go out riding it goes without saying, but, Ride & Stay Safe out there. You do not want to become a casualty and put further strain on our stretched (and magnificent) NHS Service during this difficult period of time.
Cheers

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19) Rides Out during current restrictions
Thanks for the link Tel, I do hope we can continue to get out.
One thing that struck me on my two rides over the weekend is the socialising folk do when they get to a 'biker cafe'/meeting point. I know it's normal, but things aren't normal right now.
I also noticed, particularly yesterday a marked reduction in traffic, however it highlighted two groups of road users who are not often seen / stand out as much when it's busy. One is those who don't normally drive and have been forced to. A lass cut across 4 lanes at a big roundabout and nearly ran into the back of me, I saw what she was doing and stopped and let her pass. When I overtook her later she looked petrified, didn't look like she had driven that car before.
The roads are less congested and some think it's a race track, which I shouldn't say is 'fine' by me, but they get to the corners and slam on anchors or worse still cut the corner and are on the wrong side of the road.

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19) Rides Out during current restrictions
Thanks for the reply Steve.
Obviously now the governments advice has changed nationwide.
I think it would be unwise and possibly against that government directive to go out on a jolly.
If anyone does though,… Please Ride Safe. Don't become a casualty, placing further strain on our NHS.
Be safe at home or wherever you all may be. We will all get through this unscathed your (belief system/deity) willing.
Cheers

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19) Rides Out during current restrictions
To be honest I am not going to ride again until the situation radically improves. I think it's ok if a bike is your transport, that's fair enough, use it to commute and go to get the shopping no more. If you were to come off you tie up Police and NHS resources and more selfishly you could wind up in a hospital, which not a great place to be. Why exposure yourself to the risk?
Anyway, whatever you do all please keep safe we all have many great friends on here and we had many superb adventures, we can wait a few weeks to make more memories.
