WeeMac Ride Up
Tiz that time of year once again when we make the pilgrimage trip to Scotland.
What's folk's ideas on getting up there?
I'll be kicking off from little old Worksop around 9:15 and will be doing the route I did last year, where we end up at Broadmeadows roughly at 6.
Route will be Leyburn, Hawes, Ingelton, Sedbergh, Brough, Alston, Bramston, Moffet and the lovely road to the destination.
Anyone can tag along if we sort out meeting times, pace will be steady and Anti-Mechy for the reason of booking TOL while I'm in Turkey later in the year.
Thoughts?

OK, I'll be overnighting somewhere South Manchester in Cheadle Hulme, will have to work out timings to get to Worksop in time or meet en-route somewhere. Quick look at the map seems more likely for a meet-up along the route although the A623 looks interesting

Re: WeeMac Ride Up
It's an ok road with just a few switch back corners Steve, the A623.
Or you could go Stocksbridge way on the A616 and I'll meet you at a McD's on the roundabout where the A616 & A61 meet just before the M1. Roughly around 10 o'clock that would be.

See you @ McDo at 10am, hopefully it won't take long to pair the headsets in DMC. We'll hook the rest of the Packtalks on Friday evening, now that some of us have moved to the dark side of Cardo

Re: WeeMac Ride Up
We are all off and were planning a leisurely jaunt up there but could meet up somewhere along the way. I'll check with the others and get back to you. The Rob/Steve idea sounds appealing. Rob what time do you think you'll be in Hawes?? That could be a meet up point for us

Evening Steve.
Hawes, looking at around the 11:45-12:00 mark for getting there and was thinking of a dinner/lunch/arse break stop at The Station Inn near the viaduct on the way to Ingleton.
Any good?

Re: WeeMac Ride Up
Well I'll be on the Fazer for this one now so may not be anti-mechy speed. With all this glorious sunshine this Easter weekend, still not managed to get out on a bike as I'm building a shed from scratch. Sorry to hear you maybe in a car though Pete. That makes 3 cars going if you do but 3 Fazer's going if you don't.

Re: WeeMac Ride Up
Is that Station Inn where we stopped last year, gents having a view of the viaduct Rob? Ginormous mid-day meal, was good value (it is where I come from )
Hope your shed is coming along good. Not to rub it in, but I've done a few miles for you. Friday I filled up the Scottoiler, today whist out I lifted the seat to get an allen key out to adjust the screen and noticed it's getting low already - umm, must be set too high, err no I've done 600+ miles on days out this weekend. Done my bit to kill anything flying, especially around oil seed rape fields.
Now it's dawned on me the extra miles will call for new tyres ah well I fully enjoyed wearing them down. Have got the insects off the bike, but it still needs a clean, doing it slowly don't want to encourage the rain WM weekend and have to fully test to see just how waterproof my new leathers are. If the zips are anything to go by, I'll be drenched in no time.

Re: WeeMac Ride Up
Yes Steve, that's the pub from last year we stopped off at on the way. Shed is nearly finished Steve thanks, just waiting for the roof window flashing kit to arrive tomorrow then can felt it over. 11.6ft x 17ft internal dimensions of the shed so nice and big. I've managed to go to work twice and take both to the MOT station. That's my riding for the year!

We will get to Hawes for 12.00 unless you know what time you will be at the pub and we can meet you there

Re: WeeMac Ride Up
All being well Steve, we should be there 12:20-12:30. Fuel up then at Alston and again at Moffat as that saves us nipping into Selkirk Saturday morning if we head off non easterly.
The odd bit of rain is forecast for tomorrow but should be mainly dry sat-mon but a tad cool up north.

Re: WeeMac Ride Up
Me and Steve are meeting at a fuel station just outside Sheffield. Next fill up will be at Alston, roughly 70 miles or so, after our dinner stop. So as long as you've half a tank when we meet for dinner, we should all be fine.

Re: WeeMac Ride Up
Safe Ride up to The Wee Mac everyone
Hope you all have a blasting weekend of it. And as usual being a bank holiday weekend, ye olde weather takes a down turn. I'm confident it will not dampen your spirits. Sorry I couldn't make it. Hey Ho, I will get there again. I am determined to get there one more time
Ride Safe, and enjoy.
All the very best wishes
