Rear Brake Caliper Empty Rear Brake Caliper

After snapping my nipples off and making a James Hunt of drilling them out / re-threading them I've resigned myself to needing a new(ish) rear brake caliper.

Does anyone (with nice loose nipples please - brake caliper too Wink ) have one for sale?

Cheers

I have one or two spare in the shed. I'll have to check the looseness of my nipples though and let you know

Rear Brake Caliper Empty Re: Rear Brake Caliper

Hi guys,

I wasnt sure whether I should make my own or bump another thread but ive done the same as the OP. Ive snapped the rear bleed nipple and attempted to drill it out and made a mess. I phoned some bike shops and was quoted £300 for a new rear caliper.

So im here to see if anyone has a rear caliper for a 97 TCAT. If not, does the bike share calipers with another bike?

Thanks for any advice.

Scott.

Wow that was a quick reply, you'll be a life saver if you still have one after all this time.

Many thanks.

Lol, I have a few parts as intended replacements in the shed. The brakes however I strip, rebuild.and sell on as a little cash maker on the side. I now have the art of disassembling the front calipers down to a T, I also offer a rebuild service as well at half the price plus some of a garage. £70 including new seals and collection and delivery.

I'll let you know about the rear though lol.

Well I need my pads changing on the front as well, ive left them alone since ive sheered the nipple from the back, if you could strip and reassemble the front calipers that would be great. I have the pads already.

Whats the time table for the whole process? The sun is starting to come out and I want to enjoy it. I dont mind paying 70 for you to rebuild them. I dont think they've been rebuilt since the bike left the factory so trying to get the pistons back in is gonna be a real headache of a job for me.
