So, as of tomorrow (1st October), we no longer have to display a tax disc on the bike, so I'm wondering what you all are doing?

Are you simply taking the holder off, or replacing the disc with something else?

I was thinking of filling the holder with an emergency Rich Tea biscuit........ Laughing

As it happens, my RFL was up for renewal on 01-10-14 . . . So (for the time being), I'm leaving my expired on 30-09-14 on display for posterity Smile

Not a bad Idea Bingo. The RBLR have come up with the same idea too (as, I should imagine, have many other forums & groups).
Any graphic designers out there want to come up with some suggestions ?

In the meantime, can we have a moments silence please for those who have lost their jobs in the Tax Disc Holder manufacturing industry . . . .

I've put a pic of my kids in mine and bolted it to one of the black fairing bolts under the windscreen so it's just above my speedo, gives me a reality check when I'm going too fast ☺

As has been stated in other threads about the forms and ways of carrying such info, if they're not going to search your mobile, look for stickers or cards on or in your helmet, then they are hardly likely to start searching the wreck that was a motorcycle for where the (former), tax disc holder was hidden, on the off chance that's where riders have stuck emergency contact, blood group I.C.E info etc.

ICE info isn't a great idea. Never presume the rider is the owner.

Not bothering with the bike tax disc but on the van got one made up for November 77 for my date of birth tried getting a real one but the planks on ebay think they are made of gold now and want hundreds of pounds for them.
My mate has the year build for all his vehicles looks good and retro.
Cheers Mark
