Re: 1ST ride out this year
I'm sure you enjoyed it non the less.
I've been able to get out most weekends as winter hasn't really hit here yet. Today's ride wasn't quite what I was hoping for and decided the better part of valour and cut it short. A few miles in and had to filter a long line of stationary traffic, car two in front puts right indicator on and silly me didn't react and as I draw up to him he does a U turn - no issues, my brakes work better than I thought. 10 Miles further on and a 4x4 type decides to turn into the road right in front of me, I had an inkling he might do that so had the second lane already sussed out and knew it was clear. Hardly 3 miles from that, I get round a bend to see horses crossing - plenty of time to slow down, but decided best I don't try and chance any more and diverted to Ryka's, the bikers cafe at the base of Box Hill. I has just re-opened after having been flooded out when a not so nearby river burst its banks.
Was good to get out though.

Re: 1ST ride out this year
I couldn't get out on Sunday, frustratingly as the weather was half-decent. I'd arranged to go and visit an old friend who has dementia, which was very sad and depressing.
So I did need to get out yesterday to lift my spirits, and managed a few dry miles. The sun even came out briefly at one point.
Doesn't look like it's going to be very dry or sunny for the next few days, tho'.
