Hi just thought I would say a quick hi, I'm just doing my licence at the moment and looking to buy a thundercat ideally it would be red white and black.

So ill be reading through old threads for info etc.

Is there anything major to look out for on the thundercat? I have read about the second gear issues just wondering if there is anything that you would stay clear from?

I have always been a member of different forums over the years for different cars last one was an impreza p1 with 450bhp.

Look forward to seeing your comments,

Cheers

Steve

Hi Finny,

Welcome aboard! You've chosen the right bike!

Second gear issue is a controversial one but less of an issue than some would have you believe.

Have a look Here for some useful information.

I'm sure someone far more mechanically minded than me will put you on the right track shortly!

Hi Finny

Welcome aboard.
The major thing to look out for are its stunning good looks.

Arguably some things worth doing are thicker fork oil, uprated fork springs, uprated rear suspension, better headlight bulb, crash bungs (R&G's for me), some change their sprockets to get better acceleration (lower top speed, slightly poorer mpg) or you can change them the other way. Worth investing in a gold x-ring chain and keep it lubed...oh and braided brake lines and HH brake pads at the front.

Cheers
Rosco

Hi and welcome to the forum, I started life on here just doing my licence and looking for a cat, best decisions I ever made, good look with the tests and the search, glad to see you on here, nothing major to worry about with the cats, rock solid build quality and as long as you look after her with fuel and lube she'll look after you.

2nd gear issue is an urban myth as far as I'm concerned, only recall 1 or maybe 2 instances of it on here anyway and this forum has been going a while in one guise or another.

Cheers

Steve
