Spotted Custom CAT Empty Spotted Custom CAT

Hi all I was in Edinburgh for the fringe festival last week 20/08/12 to 25/08/12 and I sure a CAT with a custom paint job WHITE/BLACK. It was 2000 on wards I could tell by the headlight fairing, but before I had change to go over to him he ride off.

He was male was in all black bike gear and park up on his phone was a lovely looking CAT really clean.

Just wanted to post this to see if he is a member.

Hmmm....... What changed with the headlight fairing after 2000?

p.s It wasn't me. Mine is Orange, silver and black ....... but pretty much mainly black :(

Its not a massive different's, I have a 1999 and a lad I know has a 2001.

Where mine looks more soft on the edge's my mates looks more sharp, its hard to explain lol Very Happy

i did have 1998 and last one i did hve was 2000 and was no different

The Thundercat had no changes but the Thunderace does look very similar and yet different and that bike has a sharper headlight shape ( I sometimes mistake the Thunderace for the later R1) maybe you are comparing the T Ace and T Cat

1996: Yamaha YZF600R Thundercat launched.
1997: Dark blue metallic paint scheme dropped.
2000: New silver/yellow and red colour schemes.
2002: New Yamaha blue/white colours.
2003: Yamaha YZF600R Thundercat discontinued.

Maybe then I was across the road when I spotted it could not get across to him in time he ride off as I was crossing

I work in Edinburgh and my cat is black and white but not that clean, but you never know from a distance lol

From 98/99 they put the 'lightening' decals each side of the headlight for a couple of years. It also followed onto the fuel tank until later models.
