The cats my first big bike and ive had it for about 4 months now and i absolutely love it.
Its going to be the first summer on her just a few things to buy before hand, chain & sprocket, tyres, brake pads. Id like to hear what people recommend as im new to this and dont want to be ripped off by garage fees.

Hi Andy
Welcome aboard.
Lots of folks on here have had lots of different tyres.
Some swear at them and some swear buy them!
I've had Michelin road pilot 2's (3's supposedly even better) and also Avon Storm 2 Ultra's.
Both had pretty good longevity ( ok maybe not my last rear tyre but that's another story)
Both had great dry and wet grip.
Both were more than capable on the track days i did.
Unfortunately both are quite expensive.
I'm probably sticking with the storms one more time but might try the road pilot 3's.
Chain - go for an x ring (gold?). I went for DID and it's been solid.
Sprockets - could consider less teeth on front sprocket and / or more teeth on rear to give better acceleration albeit at the expensive of top end speed and probably a little bit of mpg.
I honestly can't remember exactly what I changed mine to but I'm happy with the acceleration now and don't really care for top end speed.
Cheers
Rosco

Re: hellooo from east yorkshire
Hi Andy,
Welcome to the site. It's been a few years since I had my 'cat so a bit out of touch with the latest replacement parts, however:
Tyres - always had Bridgestones and never regretted it
Chain - DID gold chain, likewise and it looks great (Ross won't be able to tell you what colour it is!)
Sprockets - always bought in a set with the chain
Pads - ECB sintered brake pads
Have a look here for prices.
Pads are easy to replace yourself, chain can be done too, but tyres need to be done by the experts. None of these things take a lot of time to do, but if you want them all doing decide on the tyre, chain/sprocket & pads you want and get an all in price incl fitting from a couple of places. Can't recommend anywhere on the north bank; can recommend some on the south bank if you want a rideout.
Hope you get sorted and, once you are, perhaps you can meet up with some of us in Lincolnshire?
Cheers,
Chris

Re: hellooo from east yorkshire
Hi Andy,
I'm just down the road in Hull and commute to BAE Systems, sometimes on the bike, just like today. You may have heard me at 7:30ish down skillings lane!
Only had to change my tyres and I fitted Maxis on front and rear. No issues for me but then again i dont push it too much.
Chain and brakes were done when I bought it nearly two years ago. Just to confirm Its a great bike.
Rich.

Welcome to the site Andy, enjoy the Cat.
