helppppp...anyone got a standard end can just incase

hiya all...been away a while...moved house , started new job, lost new job etc etc .
anywy, the TCat is now my only transport as i'm between company cars as it were, and i have her booked in for mot tommorrow, but someone has said she my not pass with the micron can on.
sooooo does anyone have a spare standard can i could borrow if she doesnt pass, as i really need her to get to a couple of job interviews ive got lined up ????

You should be ok Cath, i've always pretty much had after market cans on all my bikes and never failed at an MOT for it..

if you do need one I have one in my shed, it's missing the back nut but you should be able to use your existing one, but as Dave said you should be fine. I take it that it is not a race can or the baffles are missing?

its a micron , and im pretty sure the baffles are missing

You will only be in trouble if they are doing a Db check, without baffles it may be too loud, but I am not sure if they do a Db check as part of the MOT - other will be able to answer that.

Mine's has straight thru termi's
Didn't even get a second look at last 2 MOT's

Mines passed three times with no baffles.

Never had an issue with my *ahem* non genuine can.

I have mine, no idea if there are things living in it by now but for the price of the postage you can borrow it if needed.

yep, you were all right , the can just got an advisory..bloody shame it failed miserably on a massive job instead :(.
so to top evrything else off i am now also bikeless

suspension linkage bearings gone

How much are they quoting for a job like that Cath?

minimum of £200 labour, if it goes well, and he's warned me they almost never do...then the parts on top :(.

have found a second hand linkage on ebay , but whether it'll be any good god only knows

When you say suspension linkage, are we talking swing arm bearings or the dogbone linkages?

its the triangle shaped bit that joins the swingarm and the shock, has 3 lots of bearings, only the bottom one has failed , but he said all 3 will probably need doing
