Have the decorators been in?...
I like it... it's very...erm... Gothic.
Black is the new black...
Nice one.
(assuming that a white/red/black combo isn't an option)

Must admit this particular colour scheme isn't doing a lot for me. It is fun though, every time I log in the site looks completely different!

Re: Have the decorators been in?...
Hmmmm..... now very businesslike.
Simple. Uncomplicated. Easy to read. Clear. Uncontroversial. If possibly Dull.
But is it rock and roll?
This is a forum after all, not a knitting pattern forum (or am I dis-ing the cut-and-thrust of the world of knitting?)
All credit to Tel for his experimentation...start dabbling in design and the world becomes a critic. Just explain to the world that you're an artiste and that the world can just go and feck off. That's what I do when anyone questions my almost god-like design genius.

Re: Have the decorators been in?...
Oo-er.... seems to have changed again, even as I was rambling. Guess Tel is lurking somewhere in the machinery, adjusting things with the aid of a tin of paint, spanner and a large mallet.
On another note, according to my profile at the side there, I'm apparently a pig. Whilst this is no surprise to me, I wasn't aware that it was a characteristic generally acknowledged and advertised.

Thanks for your words of support with the arty farty bit, however I feel I must bow to my end user wishes.
Pig thing is your Chineese year of birth mate, me, I'm a Rat.
Cheers

Re: Have the decorators been in?...
Blimey, I wasn't expecting that just yet to be honest.
When I logged out last night the forum had reverted almost to its beginnings & yes I have to eat some of my words as it was a touch bland after the rainbow blast of the last few days
This morning it looks like Tel has been very busy overnight again & the subtle changes are looking so much better IMO, Again its a simple case of each to thier own but I like the way its progressing now & I know Tel would like to hear what we think (good or bad)
p.s, Can the photo of the :yzf: on the home page be altered to the fastest colour ones please

Re: Have the decorators been in?...
You have been a busy boy Tel!
Been keeping a bit quiet on this lately, seeing what develops but I wasn't that fussed on the black background and large fonts. As of 08:20 this morning we are back to a white background with shades of blue which appears to be a refinement of the orginal look rather than a radical overhaul. I'm liking it like this Tel. Only thing is some of the icons to the left of each topic seem to overlay the text a bit which makes it difficult to read.

Re: Have the decorators been in?...
Yeah noticed the icon thingy.
Means we is restricted to icons (buttons) the same size as the boring originals. I'll have a search around, (and I'd appreciate if others did so too) for more attractive alternatives.
In the mean while I've restored the defaults.
Tel
PS: I'm somewhat taken aback by the lack of comment on the dropping of the infamous 80s cartoon logo.

Re: Have the decorators been in?...
OK.... if you're foolish enough to attempt to pander to the whims of the proletariat, rather than design by dictat, then...
...here's a vote for the retention of the cheesy Thundercat cartoon-stylee logo.
I'd also like the site to be in magnolia and taupe, some dado railing and wainscotting would be nice, and I'd like it all moving a couple of feet to the left please.

Re: Have the decorators been in?...
I like this one - i think i prefer the cheesy cartoon logo but i can live with this one - like the font size too all the letters are staying single instead of merging into a blur! No doubt amos will be pleased with the colour of the bikes!

Re: Have the decorators been in?...
....as i've just said elsewhere I like this colour scheme, easy to read!! I don't mind loosing the cartoon (should it be :yzf: ) and YES one of the bikes should be RED

I notice the bike on the right appears to be made by Ahamay. Is this a new Chinese import or something?

Re: Have the decorators been in?...
This is getting better all the time now, Strange thing is when I logged in at lunch time & earlier this evening all I got was a black background with presumably black text as it was invisible, Obviously hadnt happened to others as I could see new posts had been made but I just wasnt able to view them.
Perhaps its Tels way of telling me to be quiet
I've never been a fan of linking the cartoon logo to the bike as one is extremely serious & the other just a laugh for little boys
Still haven't worked out which way around it is yet though

The DARK SIDE had nothing to do with me honest guv [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.].
To be honest the cartoon logo was only ever used out of lazyness. The new one is adapted from Thundercat boat racing.
I'm currently looking into (much to wifey's annoyance) doing a different headder bluecat :yzf: redcat. I'll keep you all posted (no pun intended).
