My frst bike and guess what? its a cat!
Hi everyone, Passed my test on the 2nd Nov this year after many years of threatening to do so though never had the time nor the money. All thanks to a nice redundancy cheque and a gap in jobs then not only did I nail the test I also went out and looked for a 600. I looked at the SV, Bandits, Hornets etc and liked them all then I noticed a Thundercat in a dealers I was in. I had never heard of this bike before though I read loads of reviews and was impressed by what was said about the bike. The bike I have bought is a 97 on a P reg though looks like a 3year old bike. Only 14K miles on it and has been looked after. Picked it up a week after passing my test and every chance I get I am out touring around. Clocked nearly 1000 miles already and really loving it.
I look forward to joing some ride outs in Scotland or the north of England so give me a shout if anyone is local. Speak soon.
Ray

Hi Ray
Welcome to the site.....nice choice of bike and congrats on passing the test.....who did you train/pass with?
Furraboots in Lanarkshire ur ye fae? I'm in Shunny Shotts.
Not embarrassed to say I'm a fair weather biker
Roads are just too greasy for me at the moment.....when I can go round corners sideyways in the car (due to the salty/greasy roads) I tend not to go out on the bike
The brakes on the Cat are very good (when they are not clogged up with gunk) make sure you keep em clean...........and the whole bike for that matter now the gritters are out or it won't look as good for long
Need to do a reccy for WEE MAC ( a Saturday rideout on April 17th ) before the day.....you're more than welcome to come along to either (or both)
If we manage to get a glorious day before the end of this year then I could possibly be persuaded to get oot fur a bit.
Cheers
Rosco

Re: My frst bike and guess what? its a cat!
Hi Rosco,
I am from Motherwell so not to far from Shotts. I took my training with Route 66 who were pretty good. The big help was getting a practice on the grid where the module one is carried out in Glasgow. Passed each stage first time which was a bonus.
I try to get out when its not raining. Washing the bike like a a new toy at the moment and bought some good stuff from one of the dealers in town to keep it in tip top shape such as scottoiler, dry lube for the chain etc etc.
Would love to get out on a reccy with you and some of the other cat owners up here. I am into map reading big time at the moment as you canimagine having just got the new bike. Been around aberfoyle, loch lomond, lanark, ayshire. Would like to plan a two/three day trip up to skye and then round the north and back down soon.
Catch you later and let me know when you are heading out.
Cheers.
