Hi again,
Oh what a day it's been today! Long story but went for my 1St half decent ride today and broke down on the A14 miles from home :( all sorted now (well back home anyway) the battery has given up on me.
Do you have yours available? If so do you have a price in mind?
Cheers Dan

Is it your battery or could it be the rr or stater? If your battery packed up while riding it could be that it's not being charged

Good shout thanks, swapped the battery out for my sons from his bike and all is well with the bike started and ticked over fine. (shame I have to give it back lol)
Will try and get it down to the local battery shop so they can run a health check on it then I'll have to take it from there.
I take it the stator is the bike equivalent to an alternator? Was just about to research how a bike battery keeps it charge.
Cheers Dan

If you have a multi meter hook it up to the bike when it running, should be seeing around 14volt at idle, rev it to around 5 thou revs and it should sit around 14.8volt. If it goes above 15 volt then it's the rr, if your getting less than 14 volt you need to check stater coil.

Stater sends ac current to rr which then changes it to dc which then charges the battery and gets rid of rest as heat through frame

Brilliant feedback thank-you, will try and get my hands on something from work so I can test it, will also leave the battery on trickle charge although I don't think this is doing any good.

Could I do all the relevant checks with the multi meter when I have my sons battery in as this one starts the bike and it tick overs fine with the original one I had in would need bumping but then it was stalling pretty quick and I couldn't keep the revs on?
Thanks for you support Dan

Yes you can do all the checks with your sons battery, it's a known good one go removes the battery from the equation then.

Hi White One,

What year is it please and what condition is the frame in?

I'm considering getting a rolling chassis together (don't need the front end as will be doing the R1 98 front end swap) ready for a winter move of my current project to what will be a polished frame and coated wheels etc.

Interested in the frame, swing arm, rear wheel.

Thanks,

Ady.

Hi

Do you have a set of carbs for sale, or just a set of trumpets or even just one trumpet?

Managed to break one of my trumpets on my track thunder kitten (FZR400 with Cat engine and carbs) and need a replacement.

Cheers
