Thundercat on worst motorcycle name list

VisorDown have compiled a list of what they think are the 10 worst motorcycle names and the ol' is #9

I find myself constantly apologising for the name when people ask, so it's not wrong.

At least you know where you are with a Thundercat....Try remembering if someone has an 800XRT, or 800XCA or is it an XR...XC......XRx..........XCx. Feck it, its a Tiger.


Not picking on Triumph, give me a name I can remember any day.

Yamaha do a great job at confusing model numbers as it is  YZF600 R and YZF600 R6

They've gone overboard with the MT-09 stable lumped lots of different models with similar names - Tracker and Tracer being the latest, the latter has the model name of MT-09TRA, no idea what the Tracker is, but boy does it confuse insurance companies and spares shops - won't even start on what confusion it has caused the Yammy dealerships.
A stand out name is brilliant, even if a few people think it a cartoon (missed on me, I don't know it)

In my experience when I call it a thundercat most people think it's some kind of moped :( that's why I tend to say it's a yzf600 when asked, sounds sportier haha

Now THAT was my childhood ... must admit I got to the stage I told people I rode an R6 as everytime I mentioned 'thundercat' to my friends they would say 'HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO' lol

I've fallen down the rabbit hole on this one and got to the bottom and clicked on the "best motorcycle names" page. In the intro it talks about the difficulties of getting a good name, including how a good first name could be ruined by a surname:

It’s all very well to call your kid Hazel, unless you happen to be Mr and Mrs Nutt…

Also with yamaha's naming take a look at the fazer, I own a fz6 fazer 04 plate, the first couple of times I ordered parts I received them for the old fzs600 fazer, which have nothing in common between them apart from they dropped s00 from the name,

its just a name. not a worst bike

I'd call my kids names like Hazel... I'd find it funny... my child maybe not so much
