Nürburgring 2014 - Hotels and Guesthouses
Morning all "Ringers"!
I've been in touch with a few places around the Ring, also thanks for some of the suggestions, I've contacted them as well.
Here some of the ones that have replied... I've asked for space for 10 people.
The Hotel Forsthaus looks like a very good candidate as some of you have already stayed there but they're fully booked until 7th September. If we move the whole thing by one day, or even reduce it by one, it could be an option.
If the "Whole house" option is something you'd like to consider after all then I can get more quotes for places like that as there seem to be quite a few around that area.
That's all I have so far as some places want to wait until the racing calender has been published so they know when to up their prices. They said get back in touch early next year
What do you think? Any other suggestions for places you've stayed at maybe?

I can do a double and then 2 triples and a twin if there are 10 of you
or whatever combination the numbers make up..
The rates are still 32€ pppn inc continental breakfast and secure bike parking. English breakfast is 6€ extra.

Re: Nürburgring 2014 - Hotels and Guesthouses
Call me old fashioned, and I feel I must declare an interest here (having stopped at the place), but my preference would be for the Forsthaus option, (I am guessing the charges are per room per night and not per person ?). Not only does it present the more attractive offer, It's business is built and geared around motorcycling and motorcyclists.
I'd have no problem with it being 1 day shorter, and it would probably make travel over a bit easier time wise in the week.
The Eifel is a very touristy place especially around the Nuerburgring and at race times. Like any other tourist trap anywhere in the world, they look to where they can fleece the punters for maximum dosh. So I'm not surprised that many holiday home rentals are waiting for the race calendar before accepting bookings.
That's my tuppence worth . . . awaits in coming (DIG IN !) . . . . . . .
Tel
PS:
Thanks for all your hard work on this one Thomas

Yep, they are and I completely agree with you Tel. Value for money seems to be spot on at that place.0ldcat wrote:(I am guessing the charges are per room per night and not per person ?)

I'd be quite open to the 'Whole House' option if people were up for it!

Looks great I'm certainly a tentative yes, need to see what the holiday situation at work is.....
Re: Nürburgring 2014 - Hotels and Guesthouses
OK... I think we'll go for the Forsthaus.
Dates: 7th-13th September
I'll get in touch with them and make a booking for 11 people, assuming everyone is happy sharing? We can do the room allocation once I know what we can get... Will try to book as many "Blockhaus" and "Apartments" as possible.
I'm sure if additional people sign up we can get the odd extra room or worst case find something nearby.
Once I know how much deposits will be I'll let you all know and we'll go from there...

Re: Nürburgring 2014 - Hotels and Guesthouses
Right... just got the booking confirmation!
We get 2x "Blockhaus" for 4 people each, 1x double room and a single. We can split them up however we want but since I'm a big "snorer" I'm guessing I'll take the single
Overall cost for the 6 days is 1776€ and the deposit is 30% (531€) which I need to transfer in the next week or so.
The cost breaks down to just below 27€ pppn and that's including breakfast!
I would now like to ask for the deposit from all the signed up people please. It's 48.27€ per person.
I'll PM everyone who's signed up with the details for you to make the transfer into my account directly.

I've requested the week off but won't know until the middle of October, so I'll have to risk what accommodation there is available.
I'll be in touch

Re: Nürburgring 2014 - Hotels and Guesthouses
Quick update...
I've now received some of the deposits, thanks a lot to those who transferred already
All the others who've signed up could you please let me know roughly when you'll be able to send your deposit? Just wondering as none of you has yet replied to my PM from last week
I thought I'd pay the hotel by Friday but if that's too early for you all please let me know and I'll hold off until early next week.
I'd really appreciate a short message or something to let me know as soon as possible.
Many thanks!
Thomas

Not a problem Dave, whenever you get the chance!

P.s. well done on the Forsthaus. The guy who runs that is a smashing bloke. He did us a cracking BBQ when we stayed there with our German friends a few years ago!! And he's got the coolest ppl carrier I've ever been in!!'n he even put one of Rosco's dodgy DVD's on for us!!!

Thanks to everyone for paying the deposit. I've transferred the deposit to the Hotel on Friday so the booking is secured now.
Btw... anyone heard from "furball" recently? Is he on holiday maybe? Haven't had any reply from him yet so was wondering...
