no more bikes?

i think about stop riding bike and sell it. weather is bad :(
i use bike only to get to work.
its cost money. i am not good to take care of it.

But summer is just around the corner Tom.

Give the weather a chance and you feel different about the bike when its clean and you not freezing your ass off.

Went to work on mine today. Put a smile on my face.

Exactly, you've got through the worst of the weather and now you're going to get rid of it when the good weather is meant to be coming and when you'll enjoy it most?

Soon it'll be dry* enough so that you don't have to spend 3 hours washing it after every wet ride like me.

* This is dependant on the awful British weather.

How else are you going to get to work?

Bus? Train? Car?

Guess what, they all cost money too!

Unless you can walk, but then you won't be able to go anywhere without a bike.

You were only saying not so long ago how much you love biking, it's your life and you'll never sell your bike and now this. As others said yeah they cost money but so do other forms of transport, commuting by motorcycle is one of the cheapest forms of commute plus think of the freedom you have when the weather is good and you can go for a ride to get away from it all.

As long as you bike is minimally maintained (I.e cleaned and lubed) which I know the concept escapes you, and this can easily be done by anyone with a Haynes and a bit of common sense, the main thing is keeping it clean in this weather and you've asked about that on other threads, it's easy and there's really no excuse. Not everyone is mechanically minded and their skills lie elsewhere but others have offered assistance up there in the past, ultimately it's up to you but if you love something as much as you claim it's a no brainer.

That is unless you really can't afford to run the bike but is a car or other mode of transport, apart from push bike or walking, really going to be any cheaper and you still need to h get to work etc.

Like you I know that bikes can be high maintenance but the sun did come out today and the snow is melting.

Dont beat yourself up Tom everyone (who has cash issues) ponders on selling their bike. Its not just the weather. I do every week!

Sometimes i could do with the cash, sometimes its lack of fellow riders in my area, sometimes yes the weather.

I know once mine gone its gone and id prob not find the money again to replace it so i just kick myself and change my mind!
