WE ALL KNOW the benefits of wearing hi-viz clothing when riding motorcycles. Now, safety officials in Spain have found another sector of the community that can benefit from donning dayglo apparel: prostitutes.

We kid you not. The Spanish Police has ordered the country's call girls to wear fluorescent jackets with a view to preventing road accidents outside the Spanish Catalonian town of Els Alamus.

Sex workers can now be fined £35 (40 euros) if spotted not wearing a hi-viz vest; the move was prompted by fears the street workers were becoming a danger to passing vehicles.

The law, introduced in 2004, is aimed at protecting types of workers who spend their time at the roadside.

Or an easier way for the police to pick up the prostitutes!! Wonder how many Irish road resurfacers have been nicked for soliciting while stood by the roadside in their work clothes??

Don't suppose Spanish men can Defend themselves now by denying they knew she was a prostitute!
