I passed my bike test 20 years ago when I was 17 ,got a vf500 Honda in line 4 for a year then gave it up for enduro mx trial bikes, there's always some kind of two wheel transport in the garage .the last ten years it’s been a bit slow with buying prams and all that . my mates were off to the tt for the third time in six years and pestering me to go. so I started to look for a road bike last spring. Didn’t really want a thundercat but there was one for sale on eBay 20 miles away, I read up on them a bit ,and thought ill go to see it at least, which I liked the look of it straight away, in black. we shook hand for a grand ,I didn’t want to spend too much on the first bike, and the wife would not moan too much ! she did, as she didn’t know about my new toy in till it was on the drive the best way I think guys she can’t stop you then ! I was going to get something newer next year but I’d rather keep the cat and spend time on money making it a better and nicer ,I was shocked how fast it was, every one saying it was a good bike to start on ! I thought wow, 7 thou revs and up this thing is in a hurry ,but I haven’t been on any r 1s to compare don’t want to. so I did about 4000 miles this summer, not as much as I wanted, next year more I hope and try to go on long trips , watch British super bikes kind of weekend. cheers and might see you there . Very Happy

Hi Martin,

Welcome to the site.
That's a good introduction. Always nice to hear how folk decided on a Thundercat.
4000 miles a year is pretty good going compared to the average. Join us on some of the rideouts ponder and I'm sure we can help you beat that next year.

Cheers,
Chris

Hi Martin and welcome. I picked up my cat earlier this year and was very surprised to find it a pleasant bike and to find this site. They always make you feel welcome.

I hope to get on more rides next year as well so i might see you then.

TTFN, Rich.
