Finally, First Ride of the Year

Due to a crazy set of circumstances (broken arm, immobiliser that wouldn't unimmobilise (good word?), duff battery and a few more niggles as well) I have finally got out for my first ride this year on the Blade.

The bike went superbly, the rider however was awful. I have to learn how to ride over again. Got half way through my ride when I suddenly remembered that I was supposed to be taking the right lines, looking through the bends, finding the vanishing point, getting my braking/gear changing done before going round the bend. In mitigation though, I was also scrubbing in new tyres but I was bad. Thoroughly enjoyed myself though.

Until that is, I come across the road closed with Police and Ambulance in attendance. From what I heard, a biker had hit a car head on and his mate, following, came off trying to avoid the accident. It would appear that both were conscious when put in the Ambulance. I hope they are both ok. Put the downer on the ride though.

So, work to be done. Lets hope for more good weather next weekend when a full days riding will be done.
