Just completed the first 50 miles on my cat and I'm loving it, brakes are a bit softer than I thought they would be but as far as I'm aware she still has the original lines.
Building confidence with t he cornering and really impressed with how she rides with my son on the back.
Have a list of things I would like to do but time and money dependant.
1St on the hit list is a new front tyre as loosing air over a couple of days :(
Then cosmetics I think, needs a touch of spray paint.
Chuffed is an understatement I can see why they have a great following.

The front brakes are really good when in good order so there must be something wrong, if the original rubber hoses are on they will be well past there best, fit braided & the fluid will be replaced as a result as well. The pads may be old & glazed up too.

Check the pistons for nice free movement as they can seize if not cared for & ridden through winter.

Aye, the front brakes should be well up to the job.  Neutral

i.e. My 17 year old Cat with 45,000 miles on the clock had far superior brakes to a 2015 Ducati Monster with only 700 miles on the clock last year...which came as a bit of a surprise to me the first time I slotted back into some slower moving traffic.
I normally only use two/three fingers for the front brake in normal conditions, but had to grab a whole fistful on the Ducati.

(The owner has since sold it, with only 800 miles on the clock)

Thanks for the advice guys, I think I'll just pull them apart and give them an over haul. Any excuse to grab the spanners and get my hands dirty.

Iirc your bike has been sitting for a while, so they might just need a bit of use to take the shine/corrosion off...

Also, there's a dial (1~4) on the brake lever to adjust the preferred pressure/travel. (Push lever forward and adjust)

Thanks Rock_God, adjusted the lever to number 2 which feels more comfortable shame you can't do the same for the clutch lever as I seem to have to reach pretty far to grab it when it returns fully home.
