Hey guys I know this isn't Thundercat related but just wondering if anyone can help?

Me and my old man are currently building a Vtwin trike using a 2001 Suzuki Vl800 engine.
Neither of us has any experience riding a Vtwin other than the occasional test drive so wasn't sure what to expect?
Took it out for a spin the other day, it's torquey and seems to pull fine but once it gets to around 60-70mph the vibration coming through the bars is almost painful!

Now I'm wondering if this is just a vtwin characteristic or could it be something wrong? I am used to Inline 4s so didn't k ow of it was just me?
It still has the standard Intruder front end so the none of the geometry is out, only major difference is the handlebars which have been swapped out from 1 inch to 7/8 which I thought could be part of the issue?

Anyway any tips would be great
Thanks

It's been a long time since riding a vtwin, seem to remember it vibrating quite a lot.

Hi first thing to try is pulling the clutch in at that speed & see if the vibration stays or goes?
Rule of thumb, if it goes its engine related if it stays it's not.
Could be as simple as valve adjustment, drive train or wheel imbalance.

Sorry also forgot to say try same road speed in a different gear and
same revs in another gear that should also give you pointers as to where to start.

It could be imbalanced carbs/throttle bodies. Or more likely just improper handlebar weighting - bar end weights are there to dampen vibration (they are, literally, inertial dampers - just like on Star Trek!); if these have changed/gone this will happen.

Yeah I'm hoping it is as simple as the bars weasley, or hopefully nothing at all haha

You could try fitting Nuclear Wessels to the handlebars.

...sorry I could think of anything sensible to add :(

Good Luck.
