Thundercat has a problem!
First topic message reminder :
After a mere 14 years of ownership the Thundercat has let me down...on the way to work today the speedo stopped working! The bike is only 16 years old and has developed a fault already....I am shocked and stunned

Yes, everyone EDIT: DID see their own username . . . However the offending link has been extracted to stop any alarm. So now there should be no fear of a sudden rush of generic posts mate . . . And as the hitch hikers guide to the Galaxy clearly says in big cuddly lettersbillyw wrote:I assume everyone sees their own forum name in Tel's post. Can't quite see how that's a feature that you would want to use too often.
Now when I see my name mentioned I may hesitate to respond for fear of it being a generic post.

Re: Thundercat has a problem!
haha that really threw me then ... honestly mentally scanned through my posts trying to figure out when I would have said something to warrant that comment.

Bugger ! . . . . I'd better go extract all the quoted links before we have a mass exodus or multiple spam post reports. Talk about backfire
EDIT: Pesky link extracted

Re: Thundercat has a problem!
Anyway, back on topic. The new cable is gong to cost over £10!, thats nearly £0.72 per year in unplanned costs...disgraceful!

I would hope that they would repair the bike FOC with a failure on a bike a mere 1.5 decades old!!

Re: Thundercat has a problem!
Well at least my 2 bikes are not cable driven, so that will save me a tenner each , when there 15 years old.
So far, nothing but consumables of the normal sorts......
Unlike my Honda go-ped which has had 3 speedo cables and a new speedo drive in 70k

Re: Thundercat has a problem!
That is utterly disgraceful durability Tony
I'm an expert on broken speedo's (the clocks not swimwear ), maybe your bike spent too much time close to mine and learnt some tricks.
Most likely the pick up drive, followed by the clutch meter (as Billy says) .
