Aye hit the tarmac today (well the bike did) whilst stationary on the A831 just outside Cannich, pulled up to let a car passed, and the camper in front reversed and hit my front wheel breaking the front mudguard and footrest and one of my hand guards..

The camper was a rental jobby [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and the four lads had an £1000 exsess on the policy, so decided to settle up for cash, and being a Scotchman who likes cash it was a done deal, followed them into Drumnarochit to the cash machine where £200 was withdrawn and given to myself,

so far new footrest bought for £6.00 and a mudguard hopefully for £60ish to £114 so Quid's in' as they would say in Scotchland..

Jeez, thought this post was going to be a major tale of woe.

Glad to hear you're OK.

We know you're a Scotsman Davie; you don't have to prove it!

Only joking Davie, glad it wasn't more serious! And, if you get a few bottles of Speyside's finest out of the unfortunate incident then they're thoroughly deserved Smile

Not sure if there is a lesson to be learnt here.
I'm off to find a camper van to park next to just in case.

I think you had a happy ending Wink

Glad you seem to of had a reasonable outcome, many moons ago a friend of mine had his brand new Harley Davidson reversed over in a similar ish situation, except it was a 16 tonner and his bike was totalled!

Oh Davie, glad you're ok... and the damage to the bike is fixable.  I bet the guys in the camper van were MORE than happy to pay you off.... £1000 excess... ouchie!!

Hope you get all the bits you need pronto, and have enough left to buy a wee bottle of something you fancy Wink

Haven't you short changed yourself a bit, only allowed £86 for labour and sundries Question Billy Whizz Wink
