What do bikers do at night? When I was into cars most things happened in the evening (air was cooler, roads were clearer etc) but obviously biking seems to revolve heavily around the sunshine hours so I was wondering (as the Mrs is working late and i'm at a loose end tonight) are there such things as evening biker meets? or are all bikers either tucked up in bed (or a pub) by the time the sun goes down?

Nothing stopping you getting out for an evening blast! Depends how confident you are and you would also need to upgrade the bulb in the cat as standard is pants!

I would get onto google as there are bike nights down this end (well a bit further)... My partner is also working late so I just jump on the PS3 and crack open a cider Very Happy

...Friends are also an option Question

I went out around 11 last night to have a little test run of the brakes after bleeding them but I fancied having a ride out tonight just didn't know if there was anywhere to end up blind and annoyingly none of my friends have bikes which makes it difficult to incorporate them into my plan for an evening blast pinkelly oh and paul im an xbox man myself fencing

I know the feeling, I only have one friend with a bike down here and is never free at the same time! Although we are riding around the usual stretch on Sunday morning so if you fancy venturing out again then you're welcome to join.

Yeah I might just take you up on that ... i'm replacing the gearbox on my sisters car tomorrow so unless I run into any massive complications i'l have the Sunday free for a ride ... need to wear in my new brake pads and tires before BC! (although the 3+ hour ride up there will probably do the trick)

I used to take short runs around the Clydeside and beyond (Garrion, Lanark, Carnwath, Forth and home), and when the nights started to draw in, take the back road to Edinburgh, pootle around in Edinburgh for an hour and then take the motorway home.
Cities in the evening are pretty good for getting used to low speed manoeuvring in traffic (and strengthening up your wrists). Smile

-edit- You collect a lot of bugs on some country roads in the evenings though....as in 4.3 Kg of pure insect protein stuck to the front of the bike, your upper torso and helmet. green smile

I stay away from night riding, enough idiots on road during day so only keep my cat for sunny days only. Its right about the headlights thou, they are shocking. When I picked my cat up for first time I had to ride it home in the dark on the motorway with my bird following me in her car, said could hardly see me from front and rear. Id defo upgrade headlights if i was gonna do more riding at night and wear a reflective jacket.
