Cleaning off Scotland
There have been a few exceptional topics on Thundercat rebuilds/modifications recently so I thought I'd share my current toils.
It might also make me get me finger out too!
Following a very slow speed incident at WeeMac and a complete redecoration, of all bikes, courtesy of the fantastic Scottish weather my bike's in need of a little TLC. Or, alternatively, I need to get all the Scottish $hite off my bike!
It's called 'cleaning', Ross.
So here are a few pics of the work in progress.
And also a couple I took at the top of the North Pennines on the way up that may explain why everything got a bit durty.
Natural territory for a super-bike don't you think?!!!
Nose-less

It's complicated

It's got a dry clutch now!

How many bits! Less than 10 left over at the end is good?

It was a bit snowy on the way up to WeeMac 2013.
And the views down the valley are magnificent, when it's not foggy!

Love the stand Chris. Colour coded to the bike as well.
Been meaning to get me one of those as the "ABBA" don't to Panigale fitting.
Do you mind me enquiring where you got yours from. Have seen them online.

Re: Cleaning off Scotland
I think a good deep clean every so often does no harm, as the fairings had to come off mine to do the oil and filter last weekend it was an excuse to clean and before I knew it the tank, seats and all sorts were scattered all over to give her a good clean.
4 days later and a trip to Cadwell and back getting rained on plus all the other crap on the roads and its going to need stripping down again.its never ending and I can sort of see the validity of Ross's no clean policy
They do look good them stands but I've got an Abba and that does the job pretty well, shame they don't do em for the Pani

Re: Cleaning off Scotland
Well it's the first 'deep clean' it's had - ever. So due for it I think.
The stand is fantastic. 2 wheels off the ground; I can spin the bike around on the spot!
Here's the company
I got mine from the NEC when they first came out, but only just. They sold out before the end of the show. Best to give them a call and see if they've updated the range of models they support. The list changes all the time.

Re: Cleaning off Scotland
Am I the only person on Wee Mac that actually cleaned Scotland off me bike when we got back from Scotland????! In the absence of the £350 to get one of those stands I'll make do with my 5 year old front and back paddocks..

Re: Cleaning off Scotland
Apart from cleaning the bike how clean and organised is that table of parts, bits & tools?!?
Note to self to try that myself rather than plastic curry pot full of screws and bolts and floor full of parts!!

Re: Cleaning off Scotland
That's what I was thinking James. It looks better organised than the MotoGP pit garages I saw a few years ago and thought they were as good as an operating theatre.
Well done Chris, but sorry to hear about the incident that has prompted this

Re: Cleaning off Scotland
Good work Chris, keep it up...
Any chance of popping up to mine, and giving my bike a good going over it's a wee bit mucky after 700 miles of Scotland's finest, over the last few day's...
Davie
PS: I have a wee dram of Scotland's finest, for when you'r finished

I have an evil desire to do that table cloth trick here...that one when you snatch at the cloth and try to leave all the stuff on the table...

Hope you've got plenty of loctite for all those bolts/nuts.
Certainly get a lot of them with a duke, no wonder they rattle
