Seat Cowl (possible supplier)
First topic message reminder :
Ok so I've ordered a Fairing set from Ebay (from China) and this company also make seat cowls for most bikes apart from the Thundercat..... So I messaged them asking if they could produce them and their reply was yes, I'm waiting for a price from them but I think If those interested placed a bulk order it might work out pretty cheap. So just wondered if anyone else is interested and how much would you be willing to pay?
I'm going to ask them to send me one to try but it might take to arrive etc I'll post pics and more details as and when it arrives.
Thanks for reading

(Oh dear why am I like a moth doing the tarantella around a candle, faster and faster and one day I'll burn myself)
Tom,
The company Cheshirecat has contacted does not make the seat cowls for a Thundercat. They have said they could make them, but buying 1 would be expensive - they need to get the design right and set-up their machinery, you can buy one but it will be expensive..
The reason you have had issues about this on this thread is you have not understood the original question.
1. Do you want one? ( I think your postings suggest you might )
2. How much are you willing to pay for it? Is £50 OK?
You will have to paint the cowl to suit your bike, there are a few people who have the same colour and that could reduce the price for painting.
I have no interest in having the rear seat covered with a cowl, I'm fortunate enough to have a lovely lady fill the saddle some of the time

Colour, fitting specs and type of finish are all requirements for an adequate search -price and packaging preferences have been taken for granted, not to mention the essential delivery method

Ah the subtle art of innuendo
Should I use one bungee cord on the top box, or the cargo net on the back seat
Would I do a thing like that Steve?

Re: Seat Cowl (possible supplier)
All of the confusion on Toms behalf could have been and would be avoided IF - as we have said time and time again - he would only READ the topic before posting.SteveCat wrote:The reason you have had issues about this on this thread is you have not understood the original question.
THAT . . is why people get so frustrated Tom, and post short and

Re: Seat Cowl (possible supplier)
Ok update for anyone who's interested, I spoke to my contact in China today and they have asked me to buy a seat cowl from the UK and ship it to them (at their expense), then they are as (Steve) said going to set a mould to the exact size and dimensions of the cowl. I have asked for prices but at this stage its hard for them to quote me a price however they did say that they would keep the price as low as possible if I ordered them in bulk, i.e 20+ I'm willing to do this and then in turn sell them on to forum members at no extra cost other than P&P, The ones I don't sell will be going on Ebay etc so I can make myself a few quid for my troubles, and as a bonus the company in China said they will return the original I send them to me as a Thank you...
So all is good,
Will keep you informed but I reckon it could be upto 8 weeks before I actually have the cowls to sell on..

Re: Seat Cowl (possible supplier)
Seems as though there is still a bit of a demand for these seat cowls , as there were two just ended on e-bay,one went for £64, the other for £46. So your little business venture could pay off

I'm afraid there not going to make them, they want an order of at least 100 pieces first! I can't see 100 of us on here wanting them!

Tomcom, they will not make any less than 100, so they are not going to send you 50 of them!

Re: Seat Cowl (possible supplier)
If Tomcom really wants to buy 50, I'm sure it wouldn't take long to shift the other 50 either on here or on Fleabay.
Possibly might be worth passing the details on to a budding entrepreneur, I'm sure theres some cash to be made somewhere here.
