Post  Rosco Thu Apr 30 2009, 14:23

Come on folks ...... what is the worst thing Embarassed (or things) you've done to your Thundercat.

A performance balls up
A trick add-on that looks crap
An adjustment to suit someone other than you
Left it to rot in muck with picture to prove it

..... or worse pale !

Answers on a postcard complete with pictures if poss please

WORST thing you've done to your Thundercat Empty Re: WORST thing you've done to your Thundercat

Easy one. I put an amber lens cover on. At the time I thought that a. it looked good and b. it would save the lens from getting a stone chip or getting cracked.

What was I thinking?

Sorry, but I can't do pictures as I only keep them on my PC so can't put them on this site.

Left the disc lock on when moving it (by hand) ...... still managed to break the front mug-guard.

Still, it was an excuse to by a carbon fibre one with Thundercat logo on it courtesy of Boyler.

Chucked her down Gerrards at Mallory - she never recovered.
And fortunately the salvage people took her away for the insurance company before I was mobile again, so I never got to see how bad she was.

I bought the bike with a 'poorly' front mudguard (seems a popular problem) and didn't put the side stand down properly once. It was December, NO feeling in my feet, gave it a kick (didn't check it) and promptly lay trapped for 5 minutes 'til I stopped laffin stars

WORST thing you've done to your Thundercat Empty Re: WORST thing you've done to your Thundercat

Post  tcat_unlucky_alf Sat May 09 2009, 21:46

In common with others on here, put her down the road three times now, with different degrees of injuries to me and the bike. Oddly, least damage was done when I had no crash bungs on, but when I had the full on R&G crash bungs on for the last off, I caused the most damage... go figure? Shocked

And Rosco before you say anything, the rear tail thingy that drags on the floor was on it when I bought the bike, and I think it makes her look different so ner!!!! :geek: Very Happy Laughing

Always get crap in the plug holes when changing plugs, which makes a knocking noise when you start it afterwards. Must get an airline.

What else? Fitted a cheap alarm. That lasted barely a winter.

Fitted a Maxton shock. That didn't last; had it rebuilt and that lasted even less.

Further to last post, my shock just gave up on me and I bought a new Hagon unit. Had noticed a new one on ebay with a good saving, but didn't get it because I couldn't wait. If you're interested it's going for £225. Here: ON FLEABAY
