Fella across the road from me Watch this space owns lots of old classic cars and many more modern exotica. He does'nt live there permantly, but comes up every other weekend. Anyway he arrived this weekend in a rather nice Bentley, and I wandered across to have a closer look. I thought it was a Bentley Continental, but he soon put me right by telling me it was a "Brooklands" apparantly the C only has 4.5 litre engine whereas the B has a 7.5 litre engine. Now my FJR puts out a lot of torque at 99 lb/ft This bloody thing puts out a staggering 740lb/ft. I think it wieghs in at about 4 tons and will do approx 180 mph He,s going to pop over in about 30 mins to take me for a spin. Considering he's lent me some of his cars in the past, he might let me drive it! Watch this space.

Well Robert (thats the owner) took me for a bit of a blat. Don't know what to say after that. I've benn trying to think of superlatives and adjectives to best describe the experience. How a 2.5 ton vehicle (not 4 ton as prev. quoted) can go like it goes is frankly mind numbing. It sits on the road and goes round corners, that it really should'nt be able to, and the acceleration!! The first test we did was from about 40mph to 100mph and although rapid, I thought was on about par with my FJR. The scond time he put it sport mode from about the same speed. S*%$*+tttt Definitely the fastest thing I have sat in or on in my whole life, and I can assure you I've been on and in some rapid vehcles. Stopping power was pretty good to, although this car did'nt come with the carbon brake package. (an extra £23 grand apparantly) All in all, quite an experiance.
