I picked up my 51 plate thundercat up on Friday, put 300 miles on it and nearly died from the cold. So far I love it.

I'm 2 years into my biking career and overjoyed with the performance of the tc so far, I was riding an er-5 previously.

So yeh, hi!.

I wore gloves, and stopped often. It wasn't too bad till it started snowing :p

It's not a trip I'd repeat if I had the choice, but after buying the bike, I didn't fancy a trainride home with only itchy fingers waiting for an expensive delivery.

To make matters worse, I had a new front tyre to scrub in! I think the trip down to Southampton should have done that nicely though.

I'm shopping around now for some hard luggage and some heated grips!

Well, bikes are not 'she' they are 'it' women are she.... so she is me, I am pink. tongue

Blue is, I think, the best colour, I'm very very pleased with it. I used it to get to work and back today, so so good to be back on two wheels.

Hi and welcome Caitlin.

You're a braver man (or rather woman) than me doing 300 miles without heated grips in the snow.

Heated Grips - Only thing is they heat your palms and not your finger tips which are the bits that get cold. Heated gloves are better in that respect but more expensive.

Hard luggage for Thundercat (that I know of)
- Fandango (company now bust) did top box and pannier system
- Givi - only do Top Box for Thundercat (no pannier system)

I'm fairly sure Ezzy's mum has a rack which accepts a sort of rucksack pack (not hard luggage though)

Maybe see you on a rideout one day.
Great choice of bike.........Enjoy!

Cheers

Welcome to the site Caitlin, hope you enjoy what you see here. green smile

With that kind of spirit to go out in the cold cold snow you just gotta be up for some of our ride outs. Check em out under the "Something for the Weekend" section, also "Ride Outs/Meets & Events".

You ain't wrong Rosco me and fi wouldn't be without our stuff but like you say it's not hard luggage - tho it does make it a lot easier to just slip the rack and pack on and off - ooer missus!! not to mention it carries more than enough stuff in the big pack for a week away (well it did for me but i'm a greb!)

Mines genuine Yamaha stuff, and is semi-rigid (ooo er missus) and just attaches to an anchor system.

I'm looking for full two up touring gear, tough and waterproof, so hardcases are the thing.

I think the nonfango gear is the only thing that's actually an option, givi don't do a pannier system, just topbox.

I can't seem to find a uk outlet for nonfango, do any of you guys have a lead?

Elle, your bike looks awesome, I love the wheels!
