Taste of Lincolnshire XIV 2017
Hi folks,
Well better late than never. ToL is happening this year. I know a lot of you who have attended before have other commitments this year I hope some of you can still join for a weekend of good roads and company.
The dates are Friday 1st September to Sunday 3rd September based once again at The Village Limits in Woodhall Spa just 10 miles East of Lincoln.
The format will be, as usual:
Friday. Make your own way to Woodhall Spa. Individually or ride-in with others.
Friday evening. Meet, greet and eat at the venue from around 6pm onwards. Meet the riders, partners, family, kids.
Saturday. Full days ride-out around Lincolnshire and beyond. Stops at local hostelries for good food and drink.
Saturday evening. Meet and re-live the days events over excellent Lincolnshire food and ale.
Sunday morning. Hearty Lincolnshire breakfast to ready you for the ride home. Farewells and photos.
Accommodation is available at the venue. I've booked 4 twin rooms for the Friday and Saturday nights, so please contact me via messaging if you would like one of these. First come first served. A £12.50 non-refundable deposit is required per person per night. Rooms are £45 pppn including breakfast. Post up on the sign-up page if you're coming. I’ll add a summary.
There is a range of other accommodation available in Woodhall Spa: hotels, B&B's and camping. Details below.
If you haven't made it to ToL before you are most welcome to join us. The route will take us around the open, twisty and sometimes hilly roads of the Lincolnshire Wolds and beyond. Distance will be approx. 200 miles with frequent stops for good food and drink. Don't worry if you've never been on a ride-out before. We ride using a marking system so no one will get lost and everyone can ride at their own pace. Everyone is welcome: over-nighters, day riders, pillions and non-riders. Just post up that you will be coming so we know who to expect. Oh, and if you have any questions post those up too.
Looking forward to seeing you in September.
Cheers,
Chris

Re: Taste of Lincolnshire XIV 2017
Hi Paul,
Hope you can get things sorted and make it down to Lincolnshire. It will be good to see you again.
Which machine well you bring? Decisions, decisions.
Hi Pete,
Glad to hear you're booked in at The Village Limits. It is a ride-out you know!
There's a pattern developing here. Give it 2 more years and we can all pootle off in our sports cars to Mablethorpe for an ice-cream via a nice little garden centre
More than happy to have you join us.
Cheers,
Chris

ToL will be a veritable smorgasbord of calorie free salad ingredients. Bring your own tongs and dive in.

Re: Taste of Lincolnshire XIV 2017
Hi All,
Time for a quick update. Only three weeks on Friday to this years ToL.
Unfortunately our leader Tel cannot make it this year so there is now a room available at The Village Limits. If anyone would still like to join us please give the venue a call to book the room. Cost is £90/night twin room B&B (£55/night single occupancy).
The route has been recced and is nearly finalised. I pray the weather is with us this year and we complete it all. Just fuel stops and afternoon tea to sort.
A lunch venue has been booked and they are pretty busy, but can accommodate us indoors in the restaurant for sandwiches and drinks. They have asked if we will put in an order a week in advance for lunch - which kind of means we're committed to getting there unless the weather is truely awful. See the options below and let me know your choices asap. l'll post up a list of choices as you get back to me.
I've yet to confirm if advance orders for dinner on the Saturday night are needed. You might like to look at the menu just in case and be ready to choose.
The planned route includes a gravel car park. It's firm, but it might be worth remembering to bring a side stand puck. Other optional items you might like to bring are a fishing rod, kiss-me-quick hat, binoculars and confetti. All of which will come on useful at some point during the day!
If anyone wishes to join for the ride out only please let me know so we can make sure no one gets left behind - it has been know to happen
Departure time will be 9am prompt on Saturday with a pick up at the Humber Bridge if anyone wants to join us there. Time to be confirmed.
Looking forward to welcoming you to Lincolnshire for a 'taste' of the food, the roads and the hospitality.
See you at the bar on Friday night 1st September!
Cheers,
Chris

Re: Taste of Lincolnshire XIV 2017
Signing in,
Excellent weekend as Always Huge thanks to Chris & Pete for another Brill weekend and thanks to all for company.
It was a short steady ride home, with a slight detour to point Mr & Mrs Radar West on the right road.
As it was their first TOL I was also able to show them some of the most fabulously Flat bits of south Lincs on the way too!
Cheers Nige

And that's me home in a record 2:40, in time to see the F1! Got a bit moist around Brackley, but generally a nice ride home. I filled up at the teddy-throwing petrol station.
What a great weekend. A tight group of similarly-minded riders having a good ride and good laugh. Thanks Chris for keeping on arranging these and Pete for the erstwhile tailending.
