Noob

Hey folks

Signed up as I'm looking to gather info on thundercats.
Doing my DAS at the moment and have been reading that they are excellent starter machines.
I think they look sweet too and at the prices I have found them for sale at they sound like a bargain.

Obviously I'll need to get my license and test ride to see if it suits but I'll be having a noesy around until then.

A lot of info here on the Thundercat and forgive us for maybe being biased in agreeing with you about a good starter machine - I'll go further and say they are good even beyond that. I've had two over 8 years, a bit of a short stint in comparison to some folk  here.

I'll agree with Steve on the Tcat being a great starter 'big' bike, it was my first big bike and still is my big bike (Building a 2nd atm).

If you can get a Tcat in good order for fairly cheap it will hold it's value as it's becoming more sort after because of it's riding style and it still trumps over the new revvy 600's thanks to it's great low/mid torque power

I did my DAS 3 years ago and also started on a Cat. They are great bikes, and this is a great place to learn about them.  You could certainly do a lot worse than a cat. They are great all rounders, comfortable, quick, reliable and easy to ride. They do need some respect on the throttle when you are starting but you certainly won't get bored easily once you begin to improve as they have plenty in reserve once you twist the throttle a bit more. What's not to like?

Best of luck with the DAS mate, who are you doing it with?
Cant go far wrong with a thundercat as all of above have said...it's cheap,reliable, comfy and bloody quick.....insurance is also pretty cheap.
Hope to catch up with you out on the road somewhere along the way once your all sorted..

I'm also a noob and like yourself going through my DAS, have a Thundercat waiting in the garden ready to go as soon as the mot is complete. good size bike for a 600 and also solid, pleased with the old girl and can't wait to get her on the road.

Hi & welcome, best of luck with the tests & you will love a cat as a first bike, ive had mine 16 years & still love it to bits, it is a great road sportsbike. It wasnt my first bike though, had a suzuki gsxf600 Then a gsxr 600 before i bought the cat.

Thanks for the well wishes, I haven't officially got her on the road yet and I already love her.
The size and weight is perfect for me as I have always had smaller bikes in my youth but yet been quite tall it's nice to actually have some weight to play with.
The biggest bike I have had prior to my cat was an RD350LC but unfortunately I never passed the test and got her on the road, so hopefully now I'm putting right some of my wrongs if you know what I mean
