Seems really quiet on here these days? What's everyone up to?
Are we all looking forward bike related Xmas presents yet? Haha

Bah humbug, won't be any of those - well not next month anyway. My Crimbo pressies arrived today bought myself some new leather trousers and gloves, cheap cheap on sale - will put them away till the lining in mine totally gives in, might keep the gloves out though they seem thicker than what I have.

Oh and looking forward Rolling Eyes to another trip to the equator next week, overdoing it a bit, the second one this year!

Clocks have gone back, temperature's falling along with the leaves - time to go into semi-hibernation.

Though actually I have been out on the bike a few times recently:
- Saturday to Motorcycle Megastore (ex-George White) in Swindon for their so-called "Explosive" sale, but couldn't find any glove bargains.
- Monday afternoon, warm-ish and sunny - a 70-odd mile bimble in the Cotswolds.
- This afternoon, not so warm but sunny - a somewhat shorter bimble as a reward for getting a couple of chores finished, got home just before sunset.

Hard frost and some showers forecast in the next couple of days, so that'll mean salty greasy roads - yuk! Salt and grease belong on fish and chips, not tarmac.

Just back from Jerez but wasn't able to ride, hand & arm still too banged up for motorbikes.

Back to see the surgeon next week and hopefully the scans & xrays will show enough improvement for me to start riding & training again. Put on about 5kg and am seriously unfit, probably going to buy a supermoto pit bike for winter kicks and hit the gym hard. Hopefully be doing a bit of motocross/enduro stuff too.

Determined to be fully fit again asap, the goal is to be ready to head over to Valencia & Cartegena for a few days in March.

Anyone else fancy some winter track time?

Sounds like your all up to more exciting things than me lol the equator sounds like a bludy good idea Steve, especially with our weather takeing a turn for the bitter :(

Glad to hear your on the mend Eddie, I'm sure you'll be back to best in no time. And don't worry about the weight gain, by the end of next month we will have all caught up haha
Especially if Bob keeps mentioning fish and chips :-P

Most of the work I'm doing at the moment requires me to have a set of ladders handy, so I have to take the car. :(
It's a pity, because a lot the jobs are out in the boonies of north east and south west Scotland, which are ideal for the bike. :/
(i.e. a few weeks ago I was in Gatehouse of Fleet one day, Fort William the next and Dingwall the day after)

I also picked up a knee injury which kept me off the bike for several weeks.
It was a minor injury which became aggravated by, of all things, a pair of Sketchers shoes.
(Comfy for walking around in, but exceptionally bad for driving long distances in.)

We'll I've nearly got all the plastics off the R1 for a tidy up, paint and decal.
A spinning bolt is getting dremmel'd shortly.
Not entirely sure what I'm doing with it yet re the oil burning issues.
Crash course in engine rebuilding might be a spanner (or two) too many in the Haynes manual for me. She still fired up ok but there is an elecrickery issue somewhere that i need to find too.

Been practicing the bugle again to play last post on Remembrance Sunday. That's as musical as I get. Only 5 notes and can't read music but I can remember the tune.

Been going to boxing training for about a month now with my 11 year old son.
Mainly to try to get fit(ter) and lose a few pounds.

I am in the heaviest weight category already but I'm not interested in getting hit (or hitting anyone)
I'd love to be 14st anything so only another half a stone (and a bit) to go.

I found some bikeviz led's that I bought years ago but never got round to fitting.
After seeing them on YamahaMad's bike at Surf and Turf I'll be fitting them under the indicators over the winter months.

Need to buy a cheap(ish)road legal off-road bike between now and May next year to go to the TT.

Cheers
Rosco

Best way to drop fat mate, when I was using boxing to train last year I was the lightest and leanest I'd ever been. 75kg and 12-15%% body fat!

Sparring takes it up a notch in knackered-ness because as soon as you start flagging and your hands drop the other lad WILL take advantage and bat you round the napper a few times Laughing

Can't even fit the gloves on now :-(

As the winter draws in the bike will probably not get ridden, did manage a 70 mile run out on Sunday & on the way home thought this could be the last ride for a while.

Not ruled out another ride yet though until the roads are salted, I then intend to strip & service the forks & remove, clean & generally sort the rear shock as well as the usual winter strip & clean.

I have bought & picked up last Saturday a new mountain bike to get a bit of a riding fix over winter & generally have a bit of fun. My very old mountain bike has been retired since last winter when I snapped the rear wheel.

In preparation for winter & as I keep hearing it's going to be a cold, long & bleak winter I have put the winter tyres on the car.

Give me a shout if you're out on the MTB Paul. Loads of decent places to ride in Yorkshire/Durham/Lake District and I'm going to be trying to get out as much as possible over winter for some downhill thrills. Very Happy

Bikes are all still legal, but not ridden much at all lately. Last outing was on the Ducati to a bus museum (I know...)

The Kwack needed some work doing to the Exhaust and is now ready for the MOT

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

MV has largely gone un-ridden recently, will put that right in 2017

The Thundercat did the Euro trip this year, but has not seen too much use since

That's what you get for being greedy and owning too many bikes haha

As for the MTB's do any of you go to dalby forest at all? I usually go 2 or 3 times a year for a good ride. Nevermind boxing for fitness, get yourself round the black route in there, You'll come out a stone lighter either from sweat or tears haha

Haven't been to Dalby for a while, last few outings have been to Coed y Brenin for a couple of weekend trips and a day out up to Kielder.

There's a bike centre in Reeth just a couple of miles from me so I'm going to check that out, don't think it's graded runs but they have plenty of route information in the Dales.

There's also Grizedale, Whinlatter, Kielder, Hamsterley all not too far away.

That would be good mate. I do need to improve my fitness somewhat though, done lots of weight training this year but not much cardio.

Sounds a bit more exotic than it really is, it is cold here by local standards, I'm in a T-Shirt and they brought a brazier fire to our table last night, had plummeted to 20C. Absolute nightmare getting here, meetings for 3 days and a trip to the game park on the Nairobi outskirts tomorrow.
Total hardship no internet in the room, it seems perfect on the verandah outside the bar Guinness be rude not to
