aldi has their bike gear in today, with jacket and pants sets at £140. after needing new textiles for a long time, I begged and borrowed the money (thanks mum) and got some. as with all aldi deals its first come first served. I got to the first aldi at 10.04 four mins after opening time. when I got to the bike gear the one xl coat had already been grabbed. grrrr.
to the next aldi, where fortunately there was one xl coat left, which I promptly grabbed.
they are really good quality, far better than my old spada sat which cost more, ten years ago. nice thick material, good knock protection and waterproof. how waterproof remains to be seen, but far more than my leathers that's for sure. the jacket does not have a removable liner but for the price I am not complaining. both are in black, with minimal reflective piping, which I prefer anyway.
cant wait to get them on and go for a ride now, should be a bit warmer than my cow skins

I need some new clobber. I put my leathers on last night for the first time this year and couldn't do the trousers up! The jacket was a bit tight too. Mind you I did buy them in 2007 when I was 26. I've put on a bit of timber since I've been with the new Doris and I'm now eleven stone! Not sure if I'd go to Aldi for them though. Now you have had yours a month how are they working out for you? Debating if I should get a new set of leathers or a textile suit.

Anyone want a set of Arlen Ness leathers PM me...
As new, never crashed, just some fly gravy to clean off.

the aldi stuff, or specifically this lot of aldi stuff is top notch. best textiles you can get unless you start heading into £400+ set territory and then i think the crash protection would really take some beating. the only issue is the jacket could really do with a draw cord at the bottom, a bit of an oversight into what is a great bit of kit.

I sold my leathers and other bike clobber on fleabay and put the money towards some textile trousers which cost me £200!! I tried on every pair that fitted in the shop and these were just so comfy. They feel really good on the bike which is the most important thing. They are by Rev It. You can really tell the difference between this £200 pair and the £50 pair, and those inbetween. I haven't worn these in a downpour yet either but I hope they are dry after paying that price...

Could do with a jacket now. Need to get some more O/T in though....
