TOL - Lincolnshire with a taste of Yorkshire.

So here it is - TOL in a nutshell....

We were first to arrive at The Village limits, found our room and awaited the arrival of the rest of the reprobates.

Nick was accosted, as usual, by another resident who informed him of how to park and of his last trip to the BSB - before Nick had even dismounted or removed his lid. That may well have been the driving force behind us choosing the room at the opposite end to him...

The new MV had got a spec of dust on it so out came the cleaning cloth......

Next to arrive was Matt (Lonterra) on his BMW - gadgets and all!

Great to see fellow yellow belly BigNige, (and Jill joined him on Saturday night).

Paul (Weasley) Chris, Mechy, Chris (prime) and later Tel (Oldcat).

Evening meal was in the pub as we were treated to two spitfires, practicing their dog fighting skills. What a sight and sound!

After much merriment, piss taking and giving the waitress grief, (Nige!) we retired across the gravel to our rooms, ready for a 250+ ride out the next day.


This years 'surprise' arrival was TT Mark, Nicks fellow Salop native.

Saturday morning, bright and early and we gathered for the pre flight checks, Robcat and his wingman joined us and we discussed the plan for the day.

Off we pootled via Horncastle to Cadwell, over to Caistor and up towards Alkborough for coffee and a visit to Julian's Bower, nostalgic for me as it's the village where my grandparents lived.

Mr Prime got caught short and thought hiding in a bush we'd never spot him ... Robertcains may have gotten away with it but not a 7ft Chris!

We made our way for coffee

TOL has been renamed ... Two Old Ladies ..

We then set off 'up north' and across the Humber Bridge bypassing Hull and Beverley on some great pacey roads stoping for a brief 'landmark' photo stop ...

Onward and over some cracking roads, skilfully remembered by Chris (greencat) and to Castle Howard for lunch.

After lunch we made our way back towards Lincs via York, Elvington, taking in the Goole to Crowle road, and on bypassing Scunthorpe to Scotter for afternoon coffee and then home via the awesome Lissington and Bardney Bends, despite the whole fleet of John Deere being on the roads, one or two 'blind' road users it was incident free, weather was spot on and 250 miles completed and thoroughly enjoyed.

As is traditional on these rideouts the evening 'award' ceremonies where held, as legendary as the Oscars, the nominations and winners are as follows -

Mr Chris 'What a Winker' Prime for his role in 'leaving his indicator on the longest' possibly a new world record ....

Mr Nigel 'What a cock' Big Nige - for never having owned a thundercat - duely awarded the knitted willy warmer and tshirt.

Once again during the meal we were treated to a spitfire dog fight! Amazing.
The following morning we gathered for breakfast, after Niges cheek to the Waitress, she made him wait till last to order ... She totally owned him!

After fond farewells, everyone made their way in different directions and all arrived safely home.

Here's to Chris, Pete and another successful, fun and thoroughly enjoyable Taste of  Lincolnshire - looking forward to the next already!
