Hi All, I've just bought a '96 Thundercat track bike and was wondering if anyone out there has any tips or advice on running one? It's been 10 years since I last wobbled around Cadwell on my Guzzi Le Mans so I'm more than a bit rusty. I have used a Thundercat before and thought that it was great fun and when this bike came up at a very cheap price I couldn't resist buying it. My son rides a 33bhp restricted Fazer (it will be de-restricted in January) and we both plan to do a few track days, probably at Lydden Hill and Brands (we live in s.w. London so these are relatively local). Obviously, he has not done any tack riding so it looks like novice group riding for the two of us.

Does anyone out there run a track bike? I'd be very interested to know what modofications people have made.

Cheers
Tim

Think there have been a few threads on Thundercat's being used on the track or street fighters. In their 'day', prior to the R6, they were raced and won a championship, so race pedigree.
Sorry can't offer any track advice, having never having been on one at any elevated speed.

Hi Tim

Welcome aboard.
I've had my cat out on the track a few times....Cadwell is my favourite (so far).
Other than Hagon front and rear springs / suspension mine is pretty standard.
Managed to hold its own against most bikes round a tight circuit but on the ones with long straights the bigger engined bikes can bully there way away.

Cheers
