ToL Recce Saturday 27th June
First topic message reminder :
Hi All,
BigNige and myself will be out on Saturday 27th June to ride some of the south Lincolnshire roads and decide the route for the Taste of Lincolnshire rideout.
All are welcome to join us, but please be advised this will be a 'dis-organised' day. We have no route and may well end up going in circles! However if you wish to tag along it would be great to see faces old and new. Here are the details:
Starting point: 9am Filling Station on Lincoln Road, Horncastle.
See Google map here.
Lunch stop: around lunchtime
, The Plough, Holbeach St. Johns, Holbeach, Spalding, PE12 8RE
See Google map here.
Post up a reply or call me if you're intending joining us so we don't leave anyone behind. I don't know what time we'll be at the pub, but I expect around 12:30. Call on the day if you want a more definite time. My number is O79O3 4hundred468.
Look forward to meeting up with some of you. I hope the weather holds - it's fantastic here at the moment. Think I'll pop out for a evening spin!
Cheers,
Chris

Re: ToL Recce Saturday 27th June
Hi All,
Back home safe and sound.
Thanks to all who joined us; it was a nice little group and I think we all had a good day. A big thanks to Nige for organising us all - I really didn't have a thing to do. Great planning.
The route Nige planned for us had a bit of everything and introduced me to some cracking new roads that will be incorporated into the ToL.
In fact the ToL will be, more or less, a re-run of today. 227 miles on my clock today. That might be a bit ambitious for the final route, but there are options for shortening this.
The weather held for us and I'm surprisingly tired right now
Highlights of the day:
The early off-road section complete with mud and gravel
Mavis Enderby!
Getting to New York - impossible but true
The horse drawn hearse at our first stop of the day (nice touch Nige
)
The hospitality at the lunch stop
Tel's impression of a local (ask him!)
The roads - shockingly good in places (though I'm biased)
Belton tea stop - minus the salt next time
but with the cream cake
Suzie heading home like a rocket - you have the nitrous on or was Ezzy wanting her bed?
Boothby Graffoe!
The long run home
Look forward to doing it all again in September.
Cheers,
Chris

Afternoon coffee.
A happy band of brothers - until the salt incident, when they all turned on me
