hi all, can I pick someones brain? im getting a whining noise when I come off the revs in 1st and 2nd sounds like coming from the clutch but its not long had a new one?? was just seeing if anyone has had same problem or knows what it is? thanks

How's your chain adjustment ? Could be to tight.

When was the last time you changed the oil and what oil are you using? This make the clutch a bit noisy... as Nick said above, it is pretty normal. Before you drop a gear (if at speed) try pulling the clutch in and rev the throttle a bit before releasing, this helps the engine catch up with the back wheel when you change gear and eases the pressure on the clutch.

If you're really concerned and if it's possible, try and record the noise and post it on here.

I get that noise too in 2nd gear, and it persisted even after changing the chain and sprockets,
so I assumed it was normal for a Tcat.

I get lots of whine under engine breaking in first four gears, not sure if this is what you mean?

When I bought the bike with 16000 miles on the clock I didn't hear any noises on road test, but after the first run I found second and third whines. The bike still makes the same noise but I no longer take any notice seeing that it's now done 104500 miles.
