It was mint. It involved the use of:

- A grinder with flap disk
- A 28mm hole saw
- Pipe nipples (meheheheh NIPPLES....)
- Brass ball valve
- Welder
- Destruction of a brand new £50 BBQ from B&Q
- Setting fire to stuff
- Consumption of beer
- Consumption of food that had been slowly cooked with hickory smoking chips
- MASSIVE smile as I got nomalicious on it's ass

Here's the higlights:

Just to whhhhhhhhet your apetites, here's a pic of the small pork shoulder that just fell apart by looking at it

Here is what we are about to put on, just Going to try our first big burn, 5kg of coal and see how long we can keep it going for, not expecting miracles I'm expecting it to go for an hour or two because I don't know how to control it yet but will report back.

A lattice of streaky back, a thick layer or pork mince and a chorizo

Then roll it up to make a death by pig

That looks minted. Cool

A quick shoofty on the interwebs tells me it's commonly known as a UDS.

That's quite a portion of meatiness for someone of your stature.
Did your good lady get stuck in to help you out?

Just be careful what sticks to your meat.

Because you're worth it Wink

Cheers Rosco. Knew you'd come through Smile

And yep, it's an Ugly Drum Smoker. Currently been cruising at a steady 115c for 3 hours
The thermometer says that the beef skirt is done, looks awesome tastes great but not as tender as we thought it might be. It's wrapped up and resting now. Will test again in a bit. I can't believe I've lived for 33 years and not had proper smoked food like this before

That death by pig went from this

Made a smoker at home from an oil drum IMG_20120610_165601

To this, it took 4 hours and 45 mins

The coals lasted about 5 hours, I can see a new hobby coming up

We have a Weber firepit type BBQ and after we've finished cooking we always shut the vents off and slowly cook a joint of gammon or beef. The next night teas sorted with no effort!!
