Hi all. I've signed up this evening having done everything a little arse about face. Thundercat bought a couple of weeks ago, DAS course starts on Monday. Hope I pass! Getting itchy feet t get out and enjoy it, although hoping the weather clears up a bit first.

I did A about F and never looked back, just puts pressure on you to pass as you've got a cat sat at home waiting for you to go out with her.

Hello and welcome, should think having the bike is good motivation to pass . Some nice roads out in the cotswolds.

Thanks for all the best wishes. With any luck, I'll have my licence on the 25th, so pick the bike up on the 26th and spend the weekend getting used to it.

The Cotswolds certainly do hold some lovely routes. I'm only about 5 miles from the H Cafe on the A4074 so will have to pop in there soon.

Huzzah! I passed on Friday. Straight from the test centre to the garage to pick up the bike. It's a bit quick!

Big congrats on passing the test, enjoy the new bike but take it steady the cats a great bike but can bite!

Yes she will be fast. Don't get carried away though.
Get all the low speed control sorted too as she will be quite different to the bike you learned on.

Thanks for the congratulations. Taking it very steady fir now. Learning on an ER5 with 50bhp jumping to the 'Cat is proving quite a change, especially as it has brakes that work and feels much easier to tip into corners.

A 35 mile each way commute is hopefully going to build the experience pretty quickly.

Congratulations, the commute will sure help your experience - enjoy.

Well done on passing. Now learn to ride that cat, she will be forgiving (to a point) but don't out ride yourself, it will be lightening quick after what you learned on but getting the miles under your belt will give you the confidence.
As Rosco said work on the slow speed and the rest will follow with time

I've not tried that one (consciously) but I think I must've bee pretty close last weekend at BC, must investigate further

Watch out if you have laggage on the back with a bit of weight as the front wheel can lift of the road (not a wheelie) when gunning it in the first 3 gears, or maybe it's just because I am slim?

Cat is a great bike, and as has been said it is forgiving - to a point!
Remember for corners its always better to go in slow and come out fast than to go in fast and not come out at all!

Sure you'll be fine mate, if a lunatic like me can survive on 2 wheels, im sure you'll do just fine!
