Big Mick Master List - 6th July - 9th July

Post  Dirt Bike Dave on Tue Mar 13 2012, 16:04

Have a 10 man Dorm and a double room provisionally booked (http://www.portrushholidayhostel.co.uk/) in Portrush.
The rest of the Hostel is already booked up so this is all we could get. There are however a few other places to stay in Portrush so accom shouldn't be a problem.
Google it and you'll see there are plenty.
They have offered me a deal for £35 per person for the whole weekend which is pretty good and includes continental breakfast and all bedding.
Kitchen facilities are available for anyone who fancies bacon buttes etc.
They have Wifi too.
They have space out the back for Bike parking as they told me they cater for the NW200 as well. Seem pretty biker friendly.
Hostel will be 1st come first served so if you wanna slot get you name down quick.
There is only 1 double room available so any couples coming along get in quick!!
I will need a £10 deposit paid by the 15th April to secure your bunk.
So Please cut 'n paste and add your name to the list if you are coming along.
More info to come over the next couple of weeks!!

Brill Steve - You've been there and done that. It'll be a walk in the park. It's your birthday. Probably best to ask today....nicely.

DBD - Thanks for setting the wheels in motion. Really looking forward to this one.

UlstWarrior (John) is helping to organise things across the pond too great

Cheers

Hey folks great job, and not a bad price too DBD. yeah the area is completely biker friendly because of the NW 200 when thousands of bikes descend on the town. I wont be staying with you in the hostel, but I will be staying 3 miles from you in a friends place, so I will be meeting with u, staying with u n drinking wi u and soon as everyone is out of their pit next day I will be there ready for the off. If you guys can get ferry times sorted I will meet you in Belfast or Larne depending where u sailing from and u can ride up to my house 35 miles from ferry. Grab a bite to eat - Then we can head off to portrush which is 22 miles from my place everyone get their head down then go for a shortish ride out in the evening. I can organise getting us to and from a bar for those who want a wee drink -i can organise transport and take the group to Ballymoney where we can enjoy a drink in Joey's Bar - this bar was owned by Joey Dunlop and is stil in the ownership of the Dunlop family and theres loads of memorabilia around the place. DBD et al,

I would dearly love to come, but with increasing work commitments won't be able to confirm until last minute.

In short, I'll try to be there but will sort oot digs much nearer the time.

Well that looks like we've got the dorm rooms all taken now.
The last 3 guys on the list are buddies of mine so if any members of the site wish to take a bed in the dorm you have priority over the last 3 guys on the list. But I have to make a cut off date for this at the end of March. So if you wanna stay in the dorm then pipe up before end of March.

Hi Rob.
I did receive your money and PayPal'd Dave £55 20th March. £35 from you, £10 from me and £10 from Euan.
Dave - Can you check your PayPal account?

Ps You can use Tesco clubcard deals to lessen the cost of the ferry tickets.
I think clubcard vouchers can be exchanged for 3 time their value to pay for ferry tickets.
Will be looking to book mine very soon.

Just had a search for tickets for this - I can buy them online @ www.poferries.com - 01304 864008
for £128 (one motorbike and two adults)

Alternatively if I use Tesco Vouchers (worth 3 times their value once you convert them to P&O vouchers) it'll cost £168

Both these prices were for today only she told me so are subject to change.
Unfortunately you need to order and receive your tesco/P&O vouchers through the post before you can phone them to book it with the voucher number.
Since I'm a clubcard junkie I've just converted some to help pay for me & Euan to go.

Sunny Ireland here we come.

Post  Robcat on Mon Apr 30 2012, 19:25

Are we visiting them old giant stepping stones while we are over there? 1 of the 7 wonders of the world ya know and I've wanted to visit the place for many a year.

Decided to take the R1 instead as I'd have luggage problems on the ninja. Will need to get a new tyre fitted though ready for the 1k miles that we might be doing.

Counting down the days now.
